Freaky Forest Concept Drawings

Hello Webkinz Newz readers, Ella McWoof here with a special report! Last month you voted for the Freaky Forest theme to be the new Halloween room theme. Our artists here at Webkinz headquarters have been hard at work and I am pleased to show you the first set of concept drawings! The 3D artists will use these drawings as a guide when actually creating the final items that will be available in the W-Shop in October.
Here’s a first look at a tree that will be part of this theme.
Next up is a beautiful stone owl that’s perched on top of a stone column:
This stone wall is meant to work with the columns. The idea here is that you can add a column to the edge of the wall to create a grand entrance to the forest:
Now here’s a floor tile that you can add to an outdoor room and take this Freaky Forest to the next level:
This cave looks like a lot of fun:
And here’s another look at that log bench that we showed you last month. I still think those eyes peeking out from inside the log are a great touch:

There’s also a Deluxe Designer Contest. They are asking you to design the 2016 Deluxe Membership Gift. Entries can be uploaded from Saturday, August 1 to Monday, August 31.
The grand prize winner will receive a 1-Year Deluxe Membership AND their Design will be turned into a real Webkinz virtual item, which the Winner will have added to his or her Webkinz World account!

you betcha’ zingy!! the one I have isn’t too bad (Buckbeak has his bed hidden in trees there), but these new pieces will really add the ooooaaaahahahaa to it. Actually, I need to move all the Hogwarts rooms to a more isolated location. Found some maps showing the placement of Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Weasley’s, etc. My goal is to a total re-do. Not sure what century…

2 things i keep forgetting to mention:
if your dock stops loading your items and you can’t get past a certain letter, buying anything from the wshop will “unlock” your dock
if your dock and things to do icon disappear, clicking on family score will make them reappear

Dh keeps making jokes about being prepared for the zombie apocalypse. Well they both have been studying martial arts since they were two but neither one of them is the type to practice enough so they are OK at it. They actually train in Kung Fu not Judo and they both used to do Tae Kwon Do. I trained in Tae Kwon Do with them before the arthritis. OD has black belts in both arts. It took about 8 years for her to get the black belt in Kung Fu. They had one short lesson in lock picking it takes practice I doubt either one of them could actually pick a lock. It was more about learning how things work. Dh has a bow but it is a recreational one not hunting. They both know a little bit how to shoot mostly from girl scouts. He was actually helping them earn a girl scout archery badge. They just need to do one more activity to get the badge. OD is on her HS’s robotics team in the electrical and drive group.

Just got back from seeing Ant Man. We liked the movie.
Dh’s key broke off in the house door lock while we were leaving for the movie. He was able to get it out with pliers when we got home. Of course no one had keys for the other door on them.

Oh just noticed the comment about the cake Dee. 😉 I have a degree in food science. I studied how to bake in college and OD has been learning to cook from her Italian grandmother. I don’t bake anymore because just the stuff cooking in the oven would make me sick, even if I didn’t eat any. OD bakes at Grandma’s but she mostly makes pies. Before I totally would of been able to compete on the baking front. Sometime I’ll up load a picture of one of my cakes. I’ll have to track down an actual photograph it has been awhile.

Boper doesn’t need ninja skills she took the time to make a special cake for a book character with her kids that is just the right kind of talent. I miss being able to bake, thank goodness for their grandmother. Poor YD would be clueless in the kitchen if it weren’t for her. I got to teach some of the older childcare kids at least.

Hey there, I’m getting really bummed. I still can’t get WW to work right. I have updated adobe , clear caches, cleared my temp files. Etc…
I can’t even get wackier zingoz to work right. Normally I get lots of prizes I haven’t been able to get one. It starts sticking and the bat doesn’t swing then ins ticks and swings and he goes into the ground. Any ideas???

I hate to ask but … currently at the estore there is a deluxe special .. buy a one year get 3 months free … so I went to process that and there was a pop up offer to get a Chocolate Pup for $10 (includes shipping) “deluxe with a plush” I added that to my cart and the 3 months disappear … I can’t find if it says either the 3 months OR the plush (for $10) so … I tried it several times and got the same results … I was hoping it was a glitch … and … of course … today is the last day for the special … O_O

Krafty even if you put no to the pet the three months bonus account disappears. Once the pop up occurs the bonus account is gone even before you answer. So there is a glitch. However it could still be one or the other. The other promotion any plush pet equals one month free has a statement

Since the three months appears to be broken if you really want the chocolate pup for $10 I guess I would go for that otherwise it is possible since it is messed up maybe they will fix it and extend how long the promotion lasts so you can get the three months.

Hello All, I’ve been missing my Gymbo’s friends!
I’ve been really busy lately trying to help get Chickadee ready and registered at the local community college. The college so far has been understanding and helpful getting her 504 plan set up. I’m hopeful that her professors will be supportive and not make things difficult for her.
Chickadee is really not dealing well with this transition so we’ve decided she should only take two classes this first semester and hopefully get a part-time job. She’s decided on a math class and biology class with lab. We are meeting with the Special Services Advisor on Tuesday to discuss her math class placement. Chickadee is wanting to take a entry level math class rather than college level algebra. DH and I feel this will give her the ability to do well in a class and build up her confidence prior to taking a class she needs to transfer to the Mortuary Science College. I’m hoping this is the right decision and will help her ease into college more smoothly.

I can empathize Krafty when my memory problems were at their worst people kept telling me to write things down but that only works if you A. remember you wrote something down, B. remember to check it, C. remember where you wrote it down/put it and don’t forget 30 minutes after you checked.

Sorry Krafty that really stinks I hope it isn’t quite as bad as I got. I started having trouble recognizing people if they were out of context. Doctor said it was caused by inflammation. Fortunately although I still have some issues I am more the typical middle age what did I walk into this room for on most days now.

That is not good, Tmt, I am glad most of your memory issues are better.
The epilepsy causes holes in my ability of retrieve details, words, etc … if FFQ is around, most of the time she can help me … if not with the actual word I need then some sort of context that can help me dig it up, lol …
The short term stuff seems to be increasing … though a few times lately I have been able to recall the info I want within a relatively short amount of time … I celebrate those days, haha

One of the authors I read has epilepsy. He has a online diary and describes some of the stuff he goes through. His is primarily a light sensitivity.

After I was diagnosed and took meds for a while I developed light sensitivity … when I stopped taking the meds it got some better.

I tried to get OD the three months with free one month for her new Europe account last night but it didn’t go through. Couldn’t recognize the account. speaking of memory, what did you do to help with memory issues?
my father in law did relatively well considering he had a brain tumor removed. everything seems back to where he was before this happened except now he doesn’t remember anything beyond what transpired within the past hour.
if his daughter and her family visit from 8 hours away, an hour after they drove off, he doesn’t remember they were there and would be baffled if we show him pics of him with his grandkids from earlier that same day.

Zingy #74 I never got nearly as bad as your father-in-law. My memory improved because we were able to get the inflammation down with medication and life style changes. I found the best thing to help was repetition. Keeping daily schedules close as possible to the same times so I was less likely for forget to do something because there was always something around that time. I started putting everything on the computer/my phone so I could check times. I had to force myself to keep track of the phone and to set specific instances to check it. Not times situations. If one day something was at 5:30 and another day 5:15 I could never keep which was which straight. I still have issues with repetitive similar activities that don’t happen often. Like I would forget if I ordered a year book already for YD because I had a memory of ordering one many times but I couldn’t distinguish between the different instances. So did I do it this year already or not? If it wasn’t a habit before I got sick I have a really hard time adding new things to my routine. I’ll do the new thing for a few days then just boom it is gone I have no idea I was trying to accomplish the thing and then at some point I just remember again. It can be weeks later. Some days I felt like I was pushing through a fog and I know I was functioning well below my base intelligence level. I still call my parents during the girls activities because it gives me a foundation to remember to do it. If I try and call at home I get too busy/caught up in other things and next thing I know it is past their bed time. It sounds like he still has long term memory from before ie. remembers he has grandkids. Is he capable of making any new long term memories? Even as sever as his issue is he may find routine comforting. If he can form new long term memories a repetitive routine can help that happen. It is kind of like scratching a message in a surface each individual time blends into the others so you can’t tell them apart but with it happening enough times you get a big enough impression you can retain the idea of it even with out the specific instances. Unfortunately the daughter lives too far away for this sort of thing to help in that case. If it doesn’t upset him keep showing him pictures and keep telling him the stories of their visits. It could also help if the pictures and stories were in-conjunction with talking to them on the phone. A memory box of tactile objects could help as well, have them bring something small to add to a box every time they visit take pictures of them giving it to him. Does the daughter or grandchildren have a favorite perfume or sent that you associate with them having the objects smell like that sent could help trigger memory. A well known from before favorite color of the person. Things I don’t necessarily remember first hand even though I was there I have learned to remember this way. I tend to collect little tokens from trips my purse is covered in pins and magnets on the frig. It helps to have constant visual reminders. Don’t do any of this if he finds it upsetting or scary. If his brain is acting more like a white board when the short term memory storage is wiped it is just all gone it never makes it to long term memory at all then I don’t think these methods will help.

My take on this Zingy is he upset that such and such thing didn’t happen because he can’t remember it happened but he remembers it should of happened (his daughter visiting ever) or is he more upset that he knows he has forgotten something he really wants to remember because people mention it to him. If it is the first just keep letting him know over and over it did happen, have proof and if it is the second well just let him forget keep the memories to yourselves as much as is practical.

Unfortunately, this might be the case. But because he is sensitive to being tested, it’s hard to tell. I think the way he was raised, he is embarrassed when he gets asked a question he doesn’t know the answer to. So his rote answer to when we ask him what did he do today is – we did lots, ask Mom (his wife).
I’m just glad I met him before he had the surgery else he’d be perplexed every time I’d show up for family dinner and wonder who I was.

On the plus side, he can never really get too upset as he won’t remember what he was upset about for longer than an hour. But he is aware that he cannot remember things.
Your point about visual reminders and routine is well taken. Can’t hurt to try.

out of 9 accounts i’ve done so far, 2 accounts wouldn’t register that i’ve done wackyER when i did it first (before either bull’s eye batter and pizza palace)
