Epiphany – Three Kings Day
For Christians today is Three Kings Day or Epiphany which celebrates the day that the “Three Wise Men” visited Jesus to commemorate the birth of the Son of God.
This is the traditional beginning of the “Carnival” season of Mardi Gras in Louisiana thus the name “King Cake” for the traditional Mardi Gras cakes. Many other places have feasts or other traditional celebrations. Some people leave up their Christmas decorations until this date.

My family saves one present from Christmas for Epiphany. I was also born on Epiphany.

dee, that’s really sad news. ganz might as well say that they’re converting webkinz to deluxie only. looks like it’s only a matter of time.

Thanks for the holiday reminder, momsk! My family has never celebrated this day but when I taught Sunday school, my class did.
Patsie, that is a great tradition, we might start a new one ourselves.
My youngest daughter PB78 has a Russian heritage and her great grandma celebrated the Orthodox dates for Christmas. One year I got her “dad” to do something for that holiday date but he just complained it was more money. So I thought that all gifts given for the Orthodox Christmas should be home made. He just grimaced at me.. lol

I agree about taking existing things and making them deluxe – I think that is so wrong! I had commented on wkn and just saw that my comment posted as well as krafty’s and many others expressed disappointment
I think we need a whole post about it next even …
