we also have an online system that you can set to notify you for all kinds of things – tardy, absence, grades – you can even set a percent limit for it only to email you below a certain percentage π

they wanted to try to use the iPad loaded with textbooks (instead of students having to cart heavy textbooks).
if this pilot program was to work, they should have invested in cheaper tablets that had no wifi capability and no flash capability (which would eliminate many games)

our middle school piloted a program with ipads last year that was so successful, they rolled it out to all 8th graders this year and hope for it to trickle down to 7th by next year

Ipads not the way to go, way to costly unless Apple is financing them.. as they used to do computers in classrooms.
Many more affordable tablets that would be good to use. They don’t need to not have wifi if the school doesn’t share their password for school internet they can’t do too much.
I agree about needing to know to use books, FFQ and PB78’s schools have required kids to know how to use all forms of research.. paper and digital.

Hello everyone..sorry I’ve been out of touch..the germs got me again even after 10 days of antibiotics..I’ve been..sooooooooooo sick.
I was just reading some of the comments and got shocked at the phones and Ipads in school..I guess I am old school, I believe in books..just saying. I think it makes our kids lazy. I like computers..but in their place, what would happen if they all crashed? the next generation wouldn’t know what to do without computer..so sad! But I guess that is the price we pay as we move into the future. kinda makes me sad though.
well I just wanted to drop in and say hello..(sprays Lysol, disinfects hands) hopefully no one will catch my cooties! lol

that is soooo funny moms….i think i picked mine up at school or one of dds school activities. I soooo need to restock my little pocket hand sanitizers……we are big hand washers here….and i wiped down remotes and light switches and handles with chlorox bleach stuff……we do not wear masks or anything…not THAT crazy

Zingyginger, I have been very with college unfortunately.
I am in four classes and my math class especially assigns a lot of homework. I hope to be back on tomorrow though because I don’t have Friday classes.
Tonight, I have been texting to my best friend. I didn’t mean to disappear.
