had to tell you about thurs night.. went cellar threw in load of laundry.. went down hour later to throw it in dryer… my floor had water all over it!
I just knew that wasn’t good thing as last time that happened our main sewer drain from house to road was clogged.. and lets just say it’s one of the poopiest jobs anyone could have to do!
well I tested it by putting some water in machine and turning it right to spin.. YUP clogged.. now it was 9 pm..I had to move all the boxes of stuff I have been going through in cellar to make room for the machine that they would have to bring in and move everything away from the trap area too and of course cover anything within poop flying distance! lol

oops hit post by accident..
anyway was down there till 4 am.. I lifted a ton of boxes so not smart with a blown disc in my back! lets just say.. OUCH!
well here is the good thing.. my honey got the machine after work, our roommate came home to help him and HE brought a friend from work who apparently used to do it as a JOB!
the man was amazing!! no flying poop anywhere.. easy clean up for me just a little bit of poopy water.. and get this HE OFFERED to help and wouldn’t take any money!!!!
WOW.. now you all see why I had to pull a “CHANT” and write this story!!
there are still some pretty amazing people in this world.. and my roommate showed him this thing I came up with of ripping a small hole in plastic garbage bad and slipping it over the drain hole to catch as much stuff as possible.. the guy said he thought that was a great idea and that he was going to pass it on to his old boss!!
it really made a difference the last time they had to do it.. seems we have a TREE ROOT issue.. sigh..so this may be something that has to be done once a year or so.. and believe me it is NOT fun.. butut thanks to this guy this time went fast and easy! not to mention I caught it right away and there wasn’t any… um poopy stuff in the line becsaue I put do NOT flush notes on toilets..
never saw two men leave for work as fast as they did yesterday morning! LOL
sorry I laughed my butt off over that ..
and you want to know what got caught on the tree root and stopped everything up?
butt wipes.. WE knew after the first time a few years back to not ever flush those again..
unfortunately I need to put up a sign in each bathroom for guests to put those into garbage.. lol my fiancé’s bestie slept over two weeks ago because we went out together and he wanted to have a few drinks and his drive home is over hour from us… so we let him stay here..
well now I know he likes to feel fresh after using bathroom!!!! lol and no way am I talking to him about flushing those.. my honey can have that pleasure!!!

We have had plumbers out here three different times over the years for tree root issues . The water comes up the drain in the floor. Sorry about your back. Glad it got cleared up so much easier this time.

on the editing front, i mostly edit out glitches, add formatting (like when people had wish lists on the thread and some gifts had already been sent, i marked those), add pics or answers.
it’s self-explanatory to most people. but if somehow it didn’t make sense, y’all have my email to ask me. i don’t put down explanations for glitches as it generates more peeps asking about the glitches on the blog than reading their own emails (btw, if you need to update your email with moms, pls do).

34, 40 Chant, we had a similar issue, luckily it was the drain line from the laundry room and it DID crack the line. We had a camera snaked down the line to see the root/cracked pipe. We ran a temporary drain line from the washing machine to a rain barrel when I did the wash and used the grey water to water the lawn. It was a decent work around until we were able to get a few bids to have the whole yard dug up and new drain lines put in. We only did the guest bathroom & laundry room drain lines as they were fed into the same main line and it cost almost $15,000.
Just an fyi, from someone that’s been there done that: there are special sewage line insurance policies available since most home owners insurance does NOT cover the repair on a regular policy. We of course found this out AFTER we had the issue/work done.

we already decided to buy a camera tthis coming year and take a look just to be sure all is ok..
the guy who was here said we are close to the road less then 25 feet said animals get in the sewer pipes and can climb into your pipe and expire..ewww..OR if the pipe in road is having issues it can back up faster into a house that close! and they were out here just recently cleaning an area in the street pipe for blockage! so who knows?

I am so glad the men in my life take care of those things even IF I have to disinfect everything after..
I have a sump pump so Its easy to wash the cellar floor.
. I just put the disinfectant all over the floor scrub with broom..then I fill the washer up with with HOT water and take the hose OUT of drain and aim it at the floor! wash it all toward the sump and OUT it goes! LOL easy peasy!
necessity is the mother of invention! you do what you have to do! and my nice concrete cellar floor gets washed and sparkling clean! ..
it gets rid of spiders for a while too..

went shopping picked up some pomegranates on sale.. 3 for 5dollars..I haven’t had one since I was a kid..
they had a brochure to show you how to open it and get the seeds out easy.. wow it worked! I remember picking them out one by one as a kid and spitting seeds lolI was pretty surprised by how much was in just ONE!
I Don’t remember how much I said about my health issues on here this year..fuzzy memory..
but I had 12 inches and 8 pounds removed from my chest area! I had it done because the weight was hurting my back bad and giving me neck , shoulder pain and headaches.. the surgery worked!
since then I have lost over 50 pounds too. ! I am back into a size 12 misses at 50 years of age! and still losing.. though I am pretty happy now..
I have changed all my eating habits.. I don’t put a lot of junk in the house..I was never a FRUIT person,but I found that I just had to put my mind to it..and found I actually like to eat that instead of bad things..
a lunch for me might be an apple and maybe a few crackers with cheddar cheese .. I love the combo taste.. and it fills me..
I used to eat way too much I think for my size.. now I am told it’s not worth taking me out as I can’t ever finish a meal out lol but he says well I guess it can make oyu another meal..lol
here is the good thing about changing my eating habits.. my fiancé starting to eat the same things as me.. and he is starting to lose too!! and he has started to get to the point where a meal out doesn’t get finished too..
weird I know but apparently just changing some of the kinds of foods made a huge difference in our hunger levels for both of us..
yes we cheat every now and then.. BUT portion control is everything to those cheat foods! were not on a diet, we just made good changes..
but I still love my red meat every now and then.. lol
we are both diabetics and both doing very well with sugar control now too. and losing the weight was just an extra bonus!
and I got off track..lol anyone else like pomegranates? and anyone know why they are so expensive??? lol

chant, I think I’m the other novelist here, LOL. Many of my posts are loooong. I figure if people don’t want to read them they can just skip them.
I was recently diagnosed with borderline/possible diabetes. I knew it would happen eventually because of my horrible diet and family medical history. I’m actually surprised I made it to almost 50 without at least being borderline. I made many of the same dietary changes you mentioned and have lost 12 lbs. with no change in my couch potato status. Now that the weather is finally cooling down and my long-haired shit zu can go for walks again I am hoping that will also help. I’m thinking that if I can continue these slightly healthier life style choices I might be able to remain borderline a bit longer. I don’t mind shots but I HATE the little needle pricks to test my blood sugar, ouch!

Good Morning My Friends, I am have been busy with company from afar. We see each other once a year at this time. They brought 2 trays of home made baking for us to put away for Christmas & goodies to eat yesterday & took us out to Swiss Chalet for dinner! We had a great time! The kids put up 2 trees & decorated my home for Christmas! It looks Great & Today the 3 of us here will be wrapping the gifts we bought already & eat treats & Coco! I just LOVE Christmas! Chant I wasn’t saying you should of used a plumber, if you have the friends with the skills that is definitely the way to go. In our case not using a plumber wasn’t an option. We didn’t have anything caught on the tree branches they were the only issue and the plumbers had the special cutting tools to clean out the line. The first set recommended we have the yard dug up to repair the pipe but we couldn’t afford it at the time and it would of meant removing the fence between yards were the other person had a big dog. As it turns out it was good we didn’t have it done because they were either trying to scam us or incompetent. Because the other person we had out said the pipe we were having trouble with goes to the front not the back which my husband had original thought was the case. Anyway he cleared it out the least expensive way and said as long as it didn’t keep happening frequently we didn’t need the more expensive and effective version done. Also they have the technology now since that first plumber came out that in most cases they don’t have to dig up the yard anymore if a pipe need some repair.

have you guys seen alton brown’s show where they cook but under trying circumstances? it’s hilarious (and the food looks good despite the antics like having to hold a selfie camera with one hand while cooking with the other in the episode we saw yesterday)

i have a Webkinz closet – it has the plushes and other items with the codes on them still, plus I have a shoe box with just tags where the plushes are long gone 🙂

happy to hear that the closet didn’t get remodeled, whew! been seeing a lot of shows where they’d take out closets (i’m like why?)
dee might like it. lucky for me, my hon likes food shows better than games so we can watch them together when we’re staying in. the food looks amazing on alton’s show but it’s really funny to watch. besides having to hold up a selfie stick, in the same show, one of the contestants had to make his fish sticks with canned clams in a stage set that looks like he was on a fishing boat with a hurricane going (they gave the poor chap a rain hat to use while he cooked).
on the subject of food, not to sabotage those who’ve been doing well with their weight loss (congrats to chant and stagemom), who has tried nainamo bars? someone from Canada said it’s really good but it has an ingredient called Bird’s Custard Powder and am wondering if it’s worth hunting down to make these bar cookies.

OMG my whole family LOVES nanaimo squares. Here in Canada, Bird’s custard powder is made by Kraft.. but gets it’s origin from Britain I think and is a main ingredient. these are sinfully good and are commonly found at most grocery store bakeries.

I will have to try to find Bird’s custard powder then locally, or get it from amazon. I’ve been cutting down on baking this year as I haven’t been as good with exercise but tis the cookie baking season and the 3 layer nainamo sounds like a great bar cookie to try.

well darn it! I had a great CHANT going and POOF! gone! ahhhhh!!!
ok gist of it is this stagemom.. back when.. I had to learn how to write the long and descriptive way around the spam filter… which is how my famous “chant” writings have appeared.. lol
basically when you say anything which could imply a dirty meaning it will go to spam..
we use a lot of words that have a dirty connotation when taken out of context .. ( can I get a dollar for my ten cent word please? LOL)
I seem to remember some funny posts from moms about having to go into my nasty dirty spam folder with a can of Lysol….lol apparently there are a LOT of nasty things in there!
so you need to just think about words the have exual with an S on the front and those are the ones you need to find other words to use for. llike the one where you STABBED your finger with the in… though this may go to spam with the stab word not sure LOL

now as to diabetes… I am keeping off the needle so far myself..since 1999.. so I know I’m doing ok with that. though I have my moments.
I don’t do the diet thing anymore.. it just really doesn’t work like you said LIFE CHANGE.. period.. doesn’t mean you give up all the bad things.. you just find other things to like and only enjoy the bad things once in a while with a really bad craving..lol funny thing is after a while you don’t seem to even crave the bad things. well at least for me.
and MOMS you can do it .. its all in how bad you want it.. I got a good health scare.. that finally worked for me got it through my thick skull finally..

and my guy rented one of those machines with the cutting tool on it.. so much cheaper BUT dangerous to use if you don’t know how as they can cut your hands up you have to use extra thick gloves.. and they take two men just to lift it! and two to use it!
