   Hi Everyone:

   I finally registered but have visited this site quite a bit through the years (thank you for the info!). I, too, am from WI and have been lurking here almost daily especially since finding Dixiecup here. I’m Bernie3 from WI.

   I don’t post much anymore but will contribute when I can.

   I have two cats that I used to write about on WI but the younger one is really sick and I’m awaiting the phone call from her blood results as they couldn’t find anything on the physical exam. She was a happy, chunky little thing but now weighs 2lbs less than 5 years ago. I’m worried sick but hope they can figure things out.

   Just wanted to stop in to say ‘hi’ and I look forward to being on this site.

   Sorry about your sick cat! I had two cats, but one died about 3-4 years ago. Her sister is presently 19 years old and she has lost lots of weight, too. I’m so afraid that I won’t be here when she dies. (I’m going on a trip for over two weeks end of July/beginning of August). She may surprise us all and live another year; however, it appears that she has some hearing loss and she is sleeping a lot more.

   Dee, I have never heard of those, tried them or made them, but it kinda’ reminds me of funnel cakes.

   and you and puma and choco should give bulgur a try…..has lots of protein….
   dd left the bag here (she only flies with a backpack if she can)……..so i need to figure out what else i can make with it…….i saw a recipe for black rice with craisins in it and am thinking bulgur could go in there? maybe not….
   i will add it to something tho

    Dee, why not? I have seen all kinds of recipes where barley, rice and Bulgar are fairly interchangeable. Bulgur would pair well with currants, dates or raisins, so why not Craisins? maybe add some cardamom, citrus and honey?

    hi grandmak – welcome to the comments 😉 i’m sorry to read about your kitty. i hope you get good news. i have a sweet dog that had a tumor removed a couple of months ago, so I understand how it feels – we love our pets here – virtual & real life – keep us posted, okay?

    dee – of course i have not made or cooked with any of those things – i’ve heard of dutch babies & seen them in a restaurant but never tried one (yet)

    but you do know i now make my pup homemade food, so i cook at least once a week 😉 that counts! sssshhhhhhhh 😛 hahaha

    Welcome GrammaK…Sorry to read about your kitty…Hope the labwork will shed some light on her illness and they can begin some treatment..
    dee… checked your link … looks good but unless you can throw it on a grille.. I haven’t made it…Also… did a virtual tour of the living arrangements at OSU…
    looks like 4 sinks..three stalls..and 2 showers for quad of 16… seems like a lot of guys for that space but orientation is Monday and hopefully he can see what the living quarters look like…. I guess the highlight is that the building is air conditioned ! He is happy about that..Hope you dd arrived back “home” safe and sound !
    QOS… I hope you have a great trip… and that your kitty does OK while you are gone…
    moms.. How is your pup doing ?? I am sure always a worry…
    Saw on the National News last night that a brinks truck lost 100,000 dollars on a highway down your way….They were asking anyone who picked some up to return it !! REALLY !!
    Taking my nephew out today to do some school shopping… and have lunch..
    He is supposed to be making a list… so we’ll see.. He is more interested in getting “sleeves” for the autographed baseball cards he was able to get earlier in the week at the All Stars festivities…that is HIS priority !
    Stormy day today with heat index of 100….

    Missed that rare at 4 pm, but I am thinking it may have been a Deluxe because the Double rare that Arte gives us at 8 pm are both regular account rares.

    Arte’s 8 pm rares will be the King’s Throne for 5875 KC (Medieval theme)
    Ancient Emperor Statue for 9050 KC (Ancient Civilizations theme)

    i did not see the brinks truck spill in person, but they are showing on the news that some people are returning some of the money

    i don’t know if i even would have stopped because people get crazy, but i would not have taken any money – i don’t know how people just assume they are entitled to it . . . i do completely understand the temptation though
