moms.. Started my day yesterday by finding my mom lying on the floor when I arrived ! She said she had pushed her medialert button an hour ago and paramedics were coming… She seemed uninjured but wasn’t sure I could get her up myself… Paramedics arrived and easily picked her up and stood her up.. She was off like a shot to sit in her chair…and continue her day ! She is kind of like the energizer bunny !! She has been so lucky that she hasn’t broken a hip ! The first thing she asked for……….her glass of wine ! All is well . My sister and himself arrived and we had a good dinner and nice visit !

Dee – I also could not redeem the code for Dr. Quack’s Old-Timey Ice Box! I went through my code notebook (over 12 pages of 45 codes on each page and there is no evidence of me ever using it. And I don’t redeem codes without it being recorded on my spreadsheet.
I’d love to update my wish list, but I haven’t had time to figure out what my wishes are!
Moms – My dad is awaiting test results, too. Both parents exposed, but only my dad is sick. Mom didn’t test. She says she is feeling fine. It is SO difficult “helping” parents that live over four hours away from us. My dh has been having most of the conversations with them because I get too wound up.

Sheba.. really sorry to hear that your dad is sick.. hopefully your mom can stay healthy.. Can’t image my mom living so far away . I know it is difficult it is even with her being 10 minutes away !
moms… Hope your household gets some good news soon.. Himself called last night… His dad is feeling better and will be moving back with his girlfriend… which means himself can move back home and spend some time with his cat and live in his home for a bit before he heads back to OSU. He is so excited to be able to go home ! Taking him out for lunch today… however we are doing curbside and going to my mom’s for lunch.. News is reporting that the county is the third highest Covid cases in the country ! Trying to find some positives as we try to Celebrate Christmas ! CLE Browns lost a heartbreaker yesterday…. playoff chances are slipping away… Team had 22 players and coaches out with positive Covid tests… Playing again on Christmas Day. Third string quarterback did pretty well.. We lost on the last play of the game with 3 seconds to go..

gaga!!! Congratulations on your retirement!!! It sounds like your co-workers planned a special and wonderful day for you. So many people love and appreciate you! I hope you are loving retired life. Although it sounds like your mom is keeping you pretty busy. 🙂 I watched the Browns game yesterday. That was definitely a heartbreaker. I thought the quarterback played really well with so many players and coaches out. I’m still riding the high of my Lions beating Arizona. 🙂

Good Morning All !
April… so nice to see you ! The picture of Stella is really cute ! She always makes me smile ♥ The retirement party was very bittersweet.. still hoping I made the right decision. I will wait till after the holidays to figure out what to do with my time.. I do spend quite a bit of time at my mom’s but have noticed over the past month or so that she is sleeping a lot and her appetite is very poor. Keeping her home and as safe as possible is a challenge.. The Browns game was a heartbreaker but the quarterback did do a great job ! Playoffs seem to be slipping away but I am not giving up … Playing Green Bay on Christmas Day and hopefully some of key players will be back by then.
I didn’t realize you were a Lions fan ! Congrats on beating Arizona.
Hope all of you have not checked in are well…
Boper I am so thankful to report that I have had no Mickey sightings since that day .. However I will say that I am still on constant look out !
moms.. Can’t imagine standing in line for four hours… especially when you are not feeling well ! Hope you are negative ! Record number of positives here in OH yesterday.. I am getting to the point that I don’t want to turn on the news ! Himself is finally able to move back home.. He was busily sanitizing last night… windows open .. Cannot accept any help because his mom and I have been banned from his home for quite a long time ! I gave him a big bag of cleaning supplies and sanitizing wipes/sprays and I think he will wait until Thursday to move his “stuff” home… He was so anxious to see his cat and be able to cook and bake !
Sheba… Will keep your dad and mom in my prayers… and hope all goes well with them and the rest of your family as Christmas approaches…

Been trying to read up on here. A family friend lost her husband in an accident last week and that has been priority. It definitely has made us extra grateful to have dd home and be together.

Does not feel like Christmas is in 3 days, odd year.
Sorry to those of you who are sick or have family members that are. My MIL is also not feeling well, pretty sure it’s the flu, she will get tested to be sure. Wait times are also insane here. We are pushing celebrating with her out to next week either way.

Thanks for all the sweet words for miss stella. ♥ She is such a snuggle bunny. I’m glad she could bring some smiles. Good to know I’m not the only bah humbug here. I’m not into the holidays this year, like at all. I put up the big tree, (dh said many swear words getting it out of the basement lol) even bought some new decorations, made all the food, baked cookies and fudge….and nothing. I feel totally blah about it all. Dh got a head cold/flu as well. Thankfully tested neg. He’s pretty much all better and now and I started to feel a little under the weather. I must have only gotten a touch of it, because I’m not nearly as sick as he was. But I still didn’t feel right driving to Michigan to get my aunt so she could dog sit miss stella while we were gone for Christmas. So I’m just staying home and righting this one off. 🙂
moms—So sorry you had to wait four hours for a test! I totally agree about the not so super wheel and blah deluxe wed. We could definitely use some Christmas cheer, glad to hear SantaKinz will be back this year. 🙂
gaga—I will be rooting for the Browns on Christmas. Hopefully, coach and Baker will be back for Saturday. Yep, grew up watching the Lions with my dad. I like a bunch of other teams too, but it’s really good to see the Lions (hopefully) starting to turn things around. I really like their new head coach Dan Campbell.
dee—I hope your dd is feeling better. It’s the pits being sick over the holidays. Looking forward to hearing what your cooking this weekend.
cmpets—I will keep your family friend and your MIL in my prayers. The holidays can be a really tough time for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. I’m sure your friend appreciates your love and care and that should definitely be the priority.
