we are envious of your pool! We used to live in AZ with a built in pool in the back yard.. lived in it 8-9 months a year…
these Ohioans don’t know what a real pool is, lol, they think the 3 foot deep aboe ground things are pools… to us it is a splash pool..if you can’t dive in to it, it isn’t a real pool … hahaha
they also don’t know how to teach kids to swim, my oldest was in a class and none of the kids could swim at the end of the session
my youngest has taken 3-4 sessions and still can’t really swim and dive

Krafty, my oldest took 2 sessions of swimming lessons. she did pretty good right after but once winter starts then we don’t practice and she tends to forget a little. I don’t know how to swim but hopefully I’ll take a class this summer.

seriously, I feel disconnected and lost.. hahaha
when I took lessons WAY WAY back in 1966 yes they had water way back then, lol, after my first lesson I could swim, really swim, like over head stroke kick feet swim.. not dog paddle… we all could, from that class… after the next one, we could swim underwater… next one we could swim the length of the pool on top and under the water .. next one we could dive off of the board or side, dive for items at the bottom and get to the surface (haha) and to the side of the pool… not sure why they can’t swim after several sessions here…
when my oldest was in class… there were 3 girls in the water to teach.. and mine sitting on the side waiting her turn like the others but mine was leaning over the edge to look into the water – and, of course.. fell in and wa under the water.. if I hadn’t been watching to tell them to rescue my daughter she might have drown as they were not watching at all, any of the kids they were not touching at the time…
my little is very daring and would get in the water whether she could swim or not! lol she will also be the one to jump out of a plane and then check to see if she has a chute… O.o ahhh lol

wow Krafty that’s very scary. I was taking lessons when I was around 7yrs old but mom took me out (was being bullied and she got worried) I’ve been afraid since then, now it’s more fear of drowning even with life jacket 🙂
I’m sure I have all the tc3 posters will check later. heading to water a few of the plants now and then gym (boy do I need it after all that eating). See you guys later.

Welcome Back Gymbo. Hope you enjoyed the beach.
We crammed as much as we could into yesterday. We watched the end of Free Willy 2, jr finished reading his Magic Treehouse book, we played Monopoly (we have a marathon game going), we practiced shooting with the slingshot, jr caught a small mouth bass, I took jr to the baseball field so he could practice his hitting and fielding, and we went to the pool.
So we missed chatting here most of the day, but it was nice to say hello to a few people. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. It was nice to have Monday off work.

momskinz – I forgot to ask you. Did you design, save and place your Caring Valley tree in a yard?
jr placed his Caring Valley tree after saving his design (I knew he would pick PINK blossoms) and it is now locked and can not be moved. I thought this was a glitch they fixed.
Did you have a similar experience? Thanks moms. (by the way, the adoption paperwork is in the mail. 🙂 )

The lessons for my oldest were held at a high school pool, so no life guard.. the teachers should have seen to the safety at that particular time. She is still leery of water… I gave her a couple lessons last year but we weren’t able to use the pool much, the cost of the pool tags to identify us as living here are prohibitive.. $15 per person so that is at least 3 in one chunk.. I asked my dad about helping out and he was noncommital last year and don’t hold out much hope for this year.
It was very scary for both of us, I am a good swimmer but was holding her infant sister at the time, so my mind is racing what to do with the baby while I jump in to save my oldest… can I lay her down and get back to her fast enough before she could squirm away somewhere?… I hollered to the teachers.. and one of them managed to get to her to get her to the side again and then went away without making sure she was ok.. grrr
Gymbo, OH MY WORD, that is a horrible experience, no wonder you fear the water. I didn’t know my mother was afraid of the water until a couple years ago. We had the pool, she would get in, she cleaned the pool, .. I would never have known.

Krafty – you amaze me. I would hope that I could act as quickly. my biggest fear for jr around the pool is him running and slipping. I am blessed with an athletic fish.
I would recommend the red cross life saving course (when able to afford it). It would build confidience. Explain the history and that you are not hoping for her to be certified. It might help with her confidence and fear.
Oh… and the allowance check is in the mail (bouncing around somewhere).

Krafty that is very scary. My kids and grandkids have had lessons too.
There is always a lifeguard on duty who doesn’t teach the classes.
My kids were like fish, they were in a heater pool very young.
I have always been a strong believer in making sure the kids were water safe.
Both grandchildren have had lessons and do quite well now.
We spent a lot of time playing and helping them learn. Lots of games so they wouldn’t be afraid.
My hubby taught them to blow bubbles in the bath tub, so they they were never afraid of putting their heads in the water.

Thank you for your kindness to jr. Unfortunately, he has been running outside and not playing much webkinz. Except for his Caring Valley adoption and doing his dailies, he has not been on WW much. he is way behind on his thank you notes/gifts.
You sent a generous gift and jr will be returning it. Even though it was on his wish list, he had just traded for it it recently. he wants you to have it back and feels bad that he doesn’t have anything you want to send with it. i told him “furniture” & “decorations” of any kind are fine anytime and that a gift doesn’t have to be rare to be appreciated. I wanted you to know what was up if you received a gift returned. it was very thoughtful of you. Thank you from jr and from me. i will have to get with momskinz or Gymbo and get his wish list updated.

The Red Cross Class is great. It is very cheap because the teachers donate their services. I had my Cub Scout troop sign up for the classes years ago when I was a leader.

wow, around here the Red Cross classes are not so cheap or I would have gotten my certification ages ago
but that is a thought, a class with a different goal, she is afraid even to try to float
BUT this is the girl that clung to me during the skating party, lol and clings to the wall the two times we went ice skating, haahaha her sister is the dare devil, Kayla is much more cautious and reserved

jr is missing both the Monkey & Monkey poster and the Cheeky monkey poster from TC3. They do not show up in the trading room like other posters do. They are pretty popular I guess, but we will keep you in mind for sure.

Hi Madi – enjoy the day! Panda’s look great in all black and white or in very bright colors. JR likes his B&W cheeky dog in a tux and top hat. He does not have a pnda at all tho’.
JR had a room with a maze made out of Zingo in the boxes, but he changed it to his stuffed animal room. He has ten each of ten different plush filling the room. He did not even leave a walkway. The Zingo in a Box maze was neat.

Good afternoon looks like you guys had a nice weekend. I was at girl scout camp with older daughter. Learned a little about using a compass, took a night hike and made balloon wands.

and one in the 2nd cousins.
My sis in law called – made niece mad……
Ha ha her name is maddie – she emptied the
room and sold them all……
The 2nd cousins kept going in when friends
came over – they thought it was funny !!

I have my lava room and it was all nice until the Ganz lady went and remove lots of items from rooms so they wouldn’t be so crowded…….now they are all messy and nothing back like it was.
Tmt, your weekend sounds like it was fun! Hailey wants me to go camping with her and her troop. will have to wait till next year when she’s a brownie.
We (hubby and some friends) might go back packing this weekend, we’ll see. need to find sitter for kids first.

Only thing with that is that any open posts will automatically close in 3days or it gets full of spam. you have any other suggestions? Hey Gymbo – “a link” is really the wrong term. Sorry. I guess after trying to use my not-enough-computer-savy brain, I realized that any type of link (like the ones you keep updated with trade wishes and lists) would have to be manually updated by the admins to keep out spam. I was thinking that a favorite room post could be made, much like momskinz posts pictures of Millie above her trade list.
Unfortunately, I can not think of a way around spam unless it is admin controlled and that would be labor intensive for you all. 🙁

I am glad the beach was great. Welcome back to the rain. It was weird here yesterday (rain…sun…rain…sun…) The beach is a great cure for allergies (and a lot more!)

Hi cocomac – jr got rid of his Zingo Maze room for the same reason.. enter the room.. boing..walk around boing.. boing… I think it is great. jr did not. I tried to go to your link (site – kinzcafe) but I keep getting an error message if I try to navigate to another page. It is probably just my work server getting in the way. Gymbo – no idea about signature pets. I thought the signature items were random adoption items (instead of a 1,000 kc coin or a rare item). you really need to take the Red Cross Swimming course. just my opinion. 🙂
BTW, I will try to learn about wordpress and the options. Why doesn’t Gymbob have a techy site or a music site linked to your home page? just a thought.

madi – have you thought to give your Panda an outdoor room. Surround it with Cherry trees from the wshop and then place the the Panda in a hammock to sleep in? i don’t think the bamboo plants can go outside tho.

madi – we are all hoping there will be a lot of those PSIs in the trading room, but my guess is that more people will get the pet for the PSI than for the virtual bird.

The new room theme is as close as you get, unless you use pinks from the ballerina or funky girl theme. Maybe there will be new super beds soon. I guess the new “Stately” signature furniture is supposed to be the room theme, but that theme sure does not work for a panda or monkey.

JrsDad-Good questions . . . No I’m not really collecting the Signature Series. (Not the prettiest theme, if you ask me) I plan to buy what I want. I sure can’t afford all the signature pets. The chimp, golden retriever, and raccoon don’t really appeal to me. So I doubt I get them. If there was a *cute* Signature CAT i might give in . . . but I am CatLover so I mean if there was a cat, I should get it free. Nah just kidding. But I do love my Panda! (It was $24.99 which is a bit pricey just for a stuffed animal.)

Thanks Gymbo – I would think unless “A” is going to play with Webkinz JR online. Today’s Webkinz jr. is tomorrow’s ebay killing. (can you say Love Puppy?) But, I didn’t buy them as an investment when I saw them. I thought about it tho’
I will have to really think about displaying rooms and personal stuff. I guess a could volunteer to manage and admin a link. I will have to learn a lot about blogs and wordpress fast. I will give it thought and talk to you offline. It would be neat to have a link where friends here could share adoptions and rooms and Webkinz pictures.
