WOW. That was a show!! Talk about awesome!! Just finished up the fireworks, I took shower, some people still here drinking. It was really fun. My fears didn’t happen 🙂 So all’s well. We had about 1900 smoke balls – all done. Our driveway is VERY colorful! LOL. Its my sister and I’s fave firework so EVERYONE brought lots. Great fun day. Other than my annoying ear ache which caused my not to swim and not to mention the multiple times of being teased by older cousins, but hey I expected that, all went well. Their was one thing that I’m very nervous about but can’t go into detail – could turn legal hope it doesn’t. 🙄 Hope ya’ll had a fantastic 4th of July 2009!!! I sure did. Our fireworks were better than the CITY’S ANNUAL display!! 😆 It was fantastic!!

Today’s weather was absolutely perfect to! Couldn’t have got better.
Got a nasty sunburn on my face and legs. Legs look funny cuz the burn only goes up to wear my shorts stopped so it goes WHITE then RED LOL. Plus I had a huge BLUE smoke ball stain on my leg – long story. 😛 So it was White Blue then Red! LOL.

Naki~ Yup, it was alot of fun, by midnight her backyard was covered in popcorn, and when we woke up most of it was gone, i guess the birds got it. Last night we camped out in her backyard, we set up a tent and slept in her backyard.

usually it is someone who knows too much if you have an easy to guess password or someone who has given you a pet code can use that pet code to change the password . . . that’s why we strongly recommend not using pet codes on a “known” account, instead keep a separate account that you do not share for any codes you win/trade/etc. we also only recommend accepting codes from gymbo, momskinz (me), cocomac – admins here.

Feel very empty right now. Just found out my grandpa stopped breathing and my grandma had to beat him to bring him back. I’m nearly in tears at the thought, only thing stopping me is that I don’t like crying in public. He woke up not knowing what happened. He said that same thing happened to HIS grandpa then they found out he had a brain tumor. I’m deathly deathly deathly scared he does have a brain tumor. I can’t loose him. I can NOT handle that. No no no. He does NOT want to know if he has a tumor. I’m so scared I’m gonna loose him. I’m crying now 🙁

donder- great. it rained a little on saturday but it cleared up really fast and the house right in front of us was throwing HUGE fireworks the house across the street from it was throughing the really loud ones and to the left you could see the ones from the park too. we didnt even have to go anywhere we just sat on our front steps . and then today i got my raccoon and a fox (yay justice’s 40% off sale!) so it was all pretty good.

Don’t feel sorry! He was hurting very bad and he’s not hurting anymore. I feel blessed because I got to be by his side and got to hold his hand when he took his last breath. I got to see the peace that came over his body and I felt the same peace. I was grieving his death for months before he died so his actual death didn’t bother me much. I have good days and bad ones, but over all, very good days. I have learned that tears are good things.

Catlover- It will be hard if you grandfather does have a tumor, but MAKE YOURSELF visit and spend time with him as much as possible. Even if it’s just phone calls. It’s easy for us as humans to pull ourselves away to avoid so that it doesn’t hurt us inside so much to see how sick they are. Believe me when I say you will regret it if you don’t make as much of they time you have left together.

Plus the more you see the decline in health, the easier it will be to say goodbye in the end because you will be able to see that his life here would not be the type of life he would want to live. Also, and this his HUGE, when you are with him, give him dignity. Do NOT treat him like he is sick. Talk to him as if he is JUST your grandpa. Play games with him if he can, like go fish or whatever. My dad liked to play poker. Talk with him. Ask him things about his childhood and about growing up. YOu will learn ALOT. Plus with those who have brain tumors, many times they start living in the past. So those memories might be very clear for him

You will see that once you start making yourself go, it gets easier. The worst thing you can do is ignore it altoghter. It will hurt him in the long run because he might start to think you are afraid of him or that you don’t love him anymore.
If you can, if he goes to chemotherapy, check to see if you can go with him once. It helped me to do that with my dad. It made the idea of chemo so much less scary.

Donder-Ok. He has had few “episodes” of “being a child” like he was just acting like a child – wouldn’t eat his supper and just wanted to watch TV. Honestly that scared the living crap out of me because I’m not uded to seeing him that way. He’s the kind of guy who won’t tell you ANYTHING unless you ask. I had always imagined chemo being this horrible glow in the dark green sludge that they pumped into your body with huge tubes and that it was painful. I was shocked and surprised to see the tiny tubes of clear liquid. I was also shocked to see people actually sleeping through the process, watching TV, playing cards, laughing, reading, working on lap tops…one woman was actually playing Webkinz :), joking, eating candy, drinking pop. My dad flirted with several nurses. Of course I think he was trying to get out of treatment…but still.

I would ask questions.
My grandpa had a brain tumor. I was just 4 at the time, so I dont’ remember it, but my mom said that when he would throw temper tantrums like a child, they just had to let him do what he had to do. Eventually he would come around. The big thing is not to let yourself drift away. You can be scared and cry and be angry and feel whatever you want to feel. It’s normal. But try hard just to be a grandchild when you are around him. Let him feel your love for him, even if you dont’ think he is paying attention or can feel it, he can. And if he doesn’t show you he loves you, you have to remember that he does. His behavior is not him, it’s this awful illness that is robbing that part of him. Hold on to your memories and try hard to make some new ones. I don’t know how old you are and I”m not going to ask, but the younger you are the harder it is to be strong and to be brave. Just know that YOU CAN DO IT because you do love him. And know that my prayers will be with you and your family. I have faith in you!

Lol to the flirting with nurses. I’m just scared he will (this may not make since) try to “hold on” for my Grandma. She’s voiced her concerns about being alone. I’m afraid he will not want to let go for her. It will be much easier if my Grandma could tell him it was Ok to go. I just don’t know, it will be hard for sure. Nothing has been diagnosed but I knew something would come of it when I whittnessed his child- like moment. I can’t imagine being my Grandma and having to give him CPR to save him yesterday. She said she couldn’t remember ANY number to call, not even 911.

It will be hard Cat. And I know what you mean about holding on. My dad held on until we got the results from the last CT scan and we had to tell him he didn’th ave much time. That Wednesday we talked to him for a couple of hours about how we kids would take care of Mom and how I could take care of the check books and how the dogs would be taken care of. Then he kept my mom up until 4 in the morning telling her all these things she needed to do and his final wishes. he made her write things down so sh ewouldn’t forget. Thursday, he drifted, but still wouldn’t let go. Friday he was not with us, but was still holding on. He held on until early Saturday morning when I finally said, “Daddy, it’s time for you to go.” Mom said it was time, and so did my brother. Then he went. He needed our permission. That’s something that you can tell him. You can give him permisson whenever you feel the time is right.

My dad lost his father when he was in his 20s. He had bone cancer, he worked for this company that had this horrible doctor and if you needed to go to the doctor you would only go to him. So my grandpa when the doctor when he had chest pains, he just gave him pain killers. He went back, a stronger dose of pain killers. Well the doctor went on vacation so their was another doctor. The doctor saw his ribs were broken so he was sent to the hospital. They said he had a few monthes to live, but he died in a plane crash I think later. idk My father was sad about loosing his father, but it didn’t hurt my dad SO bad because he knew his dad didn’t have long to live
