Gwenda – everyone has a mother in my eyes – everyone. Even if she is no longer living on Earth, I feel like everyone has a mother – that doesn’t change. Sometimes mothers aren’t all that great, sometimes they die, sometimes they are the best ever . . . everyone has one though, so I see this as a way to honor everyone . . . it isn’t meant to offend, and I think the spirit of my goodwill is shown in that we are having a contest that includes everyone 🙂

My mommy and I have our ups and downs, but I still love her through it all. I think the most special times are when we go shopping together, especially on my birthday. We talk about crafts, dolls (Even though I’m the one that’s into dolls, not her) and our pets. My mom is just a really special person to me, she’ll always be there, even though we fight sometimes and have our differences.

Hello! Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!!
I’d like to pay tribute to my grandmother’s; Grandmom and Nanny. They’re both gone, but the memories live on. Both of them were good sports and ‘yes’ grandparents.
Grandmom would let my cousin and I have tea parties with a child sized china tea set she had, and REAL tea! and she let us eat dry oatmeal.
I know how silly that sounds, but it was super special to two little girls. She had one of those Victrola’s you crank and would let us play with that also. OOOOH!! and she had these fancy lights, some might say gaudy, that had prisms hanging from them. Not sure where they ended up, but I found some for our girls’ room(after they moved out). LOL Also was fortunate to end up with several pieces of Grandmom’s furniture long after she passed.
Nanny…omgoodness. Nanny did not have the constitution (she was easily flustered) to be my licensed driver when I got my learners’ permit. God bless and love her, she was often the one in my passenger seat. One day, she was going to let me drive her VW bug. It was in her garage and I assured her I was capable of backing it out. wrong 😳 I sideswiped the whole driver’s side of the car and tore the wood trim off her garage. Thought Nanny was going to need smelling salts and my Pop-pop would have both our hides. Never did hear what he had to say about it. hm, I’ll have to ask Dad if he remembers.
I had the sweetest, most special grandmothers a girl could ever have. ♥

it was 1970! LOL I’d give blood to have one of the original bugs now! my s-i-l got one to re-store for my grandson, who is a total FREAK about cars. He and I both bawl our eyes out watching the last movie when Herbie is in the arena with the monster truck that wants to squash him. 🙁 the movie has a happy ending, but tears you up before the happy part.

you know how the kids now have electric vehicles? I had a gas engine replica Model A to ‘play’ with. My ‘track’ wasn’t even and I kept losing a wheel; or maybe it was the axel breaking. Dad was going nuts trying to keep me mobile! LOL I had a mini bike by the time I was 10.

i tried to do good deeds for my mom & my grandmother, but they are both still a little ‘down’ today . . . we are spending tomorrow together here – dh & the boys are going to cook for us 🙂
my mother and i have a lot of funny memories! my grandmother too – i laugh when i think about some of the stories because she was only 18 when she had my mom so there isn’t a big gap in their generation – my mother used to polish the hardwood floors when my mom was little then they would put on their socks and “ice skate” on them ♥

i am iso lavender bath towels & rugs for my grandmother – the rugs must have an elongated lid cover, contour rug, & vanity runner or two vanity rugs – the bath towels must be ‘regular’ size – not bath sheets
let’s see how many more rules . . . we’ve been to dozens of stores and returned so many sets b/c i can’t find lavender colored rugs with matching towels that have the lid cover anywhere . . . she is not satisfied with anything even though the set i bought and took to her today match her bedroom exactly, she wants a lighter shade . . .

I usually head to BedBath&Beyond. Noticed colors tend to ‘trend’, which can make coordinating difficult; as shower and window curtains last longer than towells and rugs. 🙄 I wanted to add a couple yellow bath sheets to my current sets; but the yellow, and brand of towell, must have been last year’s color. Quite ticked off about the whole thing, but whatcha’ gonna do? Have you tried Macy’s? they usually have a gazillion different colors and styles.

there’s only my Dad left for Father’s Day, not counting dh; and he’s easy going. Maybe sometimes too easy going, but better than being rigid? I gave him an IOU for a Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner out at the restaurants of his choice for Father’s Day last year. His ‘Dinner’ request was Golden Corral! 😯 thought I’d be sick, but it wasn’t so bad.

Do you have a Boscov’s? looked this morning for yellow towells. They had a half dozen shades of yellow, none to match what I have. Might end up getting them in a different color in the curtains. ‘least the regular towells and rugs match. *sigh* You should have seen me trying to find Forest Green for the Fall/Winter stuff I switch to in…well, in the Fall.

Krafty, I struggled through the regular challenges with the pig. Actually struggled through all the games. Got them down rather good now, if we don’t need astronomical kc or points. Even the stinkin’ sub I can do now. Jumping frogs and blasted bird chasin’ after Wacky; and monkeys! but the goals on the mega challenge seem totally unreasonable; it isn’t fun. I want to have fun!

The little teeny kittenz were in last night, their mom had moved them to a not good place, going to rig up a better spot for them. They were ON last night, the quiet one scolded me endlessly, lol and they are big enough now to want to start looking around, etc.. just not so great on the coordination yet, fall over a lot, hehe

We celebrated yesterday here. My bf took my girls out and let them shop for me. They picked out the Sig Bengal kitty (MY GIRLS ROCK) a set of 3 earrings I had admired at Walmart the other day, a set of 3 bracelets one with MOM on it and a lovely Mothers pendant necklace. My bf’s sister bought special tila beads and learned to weave with them to make me a Mothers Day gift so the girls would have a special gift for me, shipped it up the other day. They had been plotting that one for some time 😀 It is beautiful!
My one sister called last night, her oldest daughter gave birth Tuesday, Keira 7# girlie 🙂 So I am a great aunt again.
My girls have a lot of homework to do today. FFQ has a boatload of make up work and PB78 has a research paper to finish writing. She is really not prepared, left the rubric and notes at school. Teacher emailed her “dad” Friday afternoon (yes AFTER school was out grrr, to remind about this project. She has had problems with that teacher this year. Teacher should have sent the email a week ago not after hours when the paper is due tomorrow. I will get her through the paper but it will not be fun, lol. Her rough draft doesn’t meet the set standards and she is likely to have a melt down over it. I have Hershey kisses here, maybe I can distract her with them while we work on the paper, hehe

i had a nice day yesterday with my mom & sister & her DD & 3 of the 4 of my beans. we shopped & did the cheesecake factory. SO YUMMY!!!!! it was a very nice day!!

Dwarf goats can actually be great for milking also! 🙂 I’m leaning towards getting a couple of Nubians. 🙂
I would LOVE to have a few cows and pigs to raise for meat, but I’d end up naming them and never be able to eat them. LOL!!!!!!!

Aw, we had a couple nubians when i was little & my parents had the farm – sweetest things ever! they follow you like a puppy, very sweet pets
cows & pigs – they had those too – well, my grandparents moved to the house on the farm when my grandad was sick with bone cancer & he had the pigs for a little while – my father had Black Angus show cattle, so the steers he had for marking were named things like Sirloin, T-Bone, etc. because they were raised for beef

My parents went over to my grandparents house to spend some time with them and i wanted to go, but me and my mom aren’t getting along well and i’m sure arguing with my mom in front of my grandparents wouldn’t be a good idea, so i felt it would be better if i stayed home.

happy mother’s day to everyone!
even if not everyone’s a mom, there’s a mom for everyone to celebrate. i lost mine when i was in my late teens. she was a stay at home mom and she taught me how to bake. i still have an old set of measuring cups she gave me that i saved. whether we were doing well or not financially, she made sure birthdays and special occasions were celebrated with home made treats.
hope boo & ffq are well on the mend by now.
congrats on finishing, dee! i’m still short 3 berries for level 2. i can’t even get the enthusiasm to do more than 1 account. props to you guys who are working on it a couple of thousand points a day. even tho i’m getting a wee bit better at it, it feels more like work than fun.
