Ganz would like you share your icy room designs. Post a screenshot of your favorite on Ganz eStore’s Facebook post HEREÂ between now and 3pm on Wednesday, January 13 and one random winner will receive a Winter Wishes Snowflake Bed, another will receive a Winter Wishes Wardrobe and the last will receive a Winter Wishes Gown.

Honey and I are also prolly the last 2 people on the planet who haven’t seen the new Star Wars movie yet but hopefully my cough will be gone by next weekend so we can use a movie gift certificate we got for Christmas.

So I have bitten my tongue a lot on some of the back & forth snark about posts & comments, and i don’t really know what to say so indulge my stream of consciousness here. I do not want to hurt feelings, and I’m certainly not picking “a side” other than the side of the blog & the community as a whole.
That being said, I am tired of the tension. I have been on the blog and not commented more in the past month than I have since I became active here. I don’t even remember how many years ago that was now. 🙂 It’s been a long time. (I had to look it up – curiosity got the best of me 4/25/2008! 😯 )That being said, I don’t really see us having a “pecking order”, and I do not think we need one. tmt and cocomac were here before me, but I have probably spent the most consecutive time especially in recent years, and gymbo more or less left it in my hands when she was moving on because I was the most involved admin, but I think I am respectful and welcoming to everyone involved.
Here’s the thing – this blog often runs like a family and sometimes it’s a big jumble of dysfunction. 🙂 We all have different styles, opinions, interests, and ways of doing things. I embrace that – I actually welcome that because I think it makes the blog better. I encourage and welcome anyone here to create posts & get involved, but I also don’t demand or expect it. I don’t want it to be a burden to anyone. If you come to chat & there isn’t an open post, feel free to make one. It doesn’t have to have breaking news or information or even pics, just open up a place to chat. If someone has news or information they wish to post, I am fine with it. Sometimes it isn’t what I had “planned”, but that is how it works – it is a shared community site.
I have added admins and granted super powers over the years on a limited basis for many reasons, but the top reason is that I try to limit who has full privileges to avoid having “too many cooks in the kitchen” so to speak. Be respectful of each other. Feel free to chat in comments to make decisions together before changing what someone else took the time to do, communicate, but please be kind always.
Everyone here is a volunteer, and everyone here has real life commitments – every contribution is a gift of someone else’s time – every comment, every link, every post, every picture. We all have various interests, but we also have in common enjoyment of Webkinz and a love of Gymbo’s. It’s our place – all of ours, so let’s share it with open hearts.

re 10 & 12 i know, 2 weeks preview seems so long ago – i only remember it coz i made the post but i couldn’t recall exactly what the bed looked like either
re 11 agreed and hugs to moms. i’ll only add that it would be nice if people would help with making posts instead of moving posts around (it’s very easy to change the date by changing one digit but i have to hunt down where the original post belonged to in order to put it back in its place and that takes time). a fresh post keeps the blog open and reduces spam.

zingy – i agree that the post didn’t need to be moved, and i’ll bet cwc does too talking about the most recent issue specifically – but do you see where your comment 14 comes across as a little condescending? that’s the way it sounds in my opinion … sometimes i will move a post where we didn’t comment to be current to make sure people see the information & open it for comments when another post is about to expire.
for anyone who doesn’t know – posts autoclose after 3 days to help reduce spam on the posts. otherwise, if we open a new post & forget to close an old one, we get more spam attacks 😉
all that being said, being patient with one another is good for everyone ♥

since you asked, moms, i’m posting what i held off saying earlier but should have. i posted comment 14 because i think most people take for granted that creating posts is breeze and takes no time at all especially if they haven’t made one in a very long time
they do take time/effort to do on a regular basis and if someone adds to the work by putting posts in the wrong order, it’s really not helping, it’s just adding to stuff that needs fixing. we have moved posts in the past but for good reason, not just because someone’s behind in their personal reading
that is, if that was the intent – to help the blog, not try to draw attention to themselves when they stop by once a week by moving things around, forgetting why they removed their own posts then emailing me urgently to ask why their double post that they forgot about got removed or updating the blog to the latest wordpress edition then blaming me for not being able to see more than 50 posts at a time
frankly it’s getting a little tiresome especially when i’m trying to do all this while i’m getting over a cold, being swamped at work and trying to get home before 7pm to make dinner.
if you want to help with the blog pls help. don’t add to the workload. else this is just irksome, childish and wearing my patience extremely thin.

zingy – i hear you – it took me a little while to realize though, that this is supposed to be fun. i don’t like people getting irritated – this is our fun – that goes for all of us. that’s what i was trying to say – it goes for everyone, including you – sometimes i got caught up on the “work” of the blog and would get irritated. i don’t want other people to create more work for any of us, i understand, and i hope that is understood. i guess i just hope you can chill out about the little things, and i hope people will stop pushing your buttons, too …
i used to stress about trying to have a new post ready all the time and to post every single piece of info, and it started feeling more like work than my entertainment. finally at some point it clicked with me that every little thing doesn’t matter, it’s just a fun place to be, and i needed to have fun with it too and just chill out instead of trying to make it perfect 🙂

All I can say is THANK YOU ALL for everything you do behind the scenes. I cannot imagine how time consuming all the work is that must be done behind that magic curtain but I do hope once all the smoke clears and everyone has a minute to take a deep breath we can all hug and get back to what we ALL do best…playing Webkinz & sharing.
I LOVE THIS BLOG!! I can honestly say I have never enjoyed Webkinz as much as I have since I found Gymbo’s little corner of the web.

momz, don’t watch much tv here so no Bachelor’s for us.
Those of you that haven’t seen the new Star Wars yet, if you have a vague idea of the back story that is enough to get you through the movie. I am not a movie/tv person but I did go see the new Star Wars with DH and I was able to enjoy the movie without much prior knowledge of the older films. I was even able to do some speculating about the next Star Wars film that is sure to be released so DH was very proud. lol

Wow! I had no idea me moving the closed post for reference could cause so much stress! I have never nor would I ever move something strictly for myself… I know for a fact I wasn’t the only one that missed that post, I just thought it was a good thing to reference back to. I too agree that posts on the top of other post do tend to cause confusion, but I know it isn’t something that you have a problem with given how many times you’ve done it. I’m confused as to what is so pressing that you would have to make sure that you got it back in the same exact spot? I’ve never had to do that in my posting career? But I’m sure you know much more about this than I.
Condescending… Yeah that’s putting it mildly in my opinion, but it is what it is. Zingy, I tried to be an adult about this and emailed you in private, so I’m not sure why you feel the need to publicize this, but ok. Did I make a mistake once and ask you if you deleted my comment, that in fact I deleted & forgot about? yes. With that being said that’s because well quite frankly we all know that you have taken matters into your own hands more than I’ve ever seen any administrator do including myself. . . You’ve spoke out of turn on a trade I was working on as well as done many other things that I won’t go into. . .
We all are very much aware that this is a very time-consuming hobby/job sometimes. And I’m not being mean, but no one said that you had to be in charge of doing everything all the time. I think you’re awesome at what you do please don’t take that the wrong way. But there are other people here who are more than capable of making a post… we did do that before you came along.
I’m not going to go into everything that you do and or have done. But this is supposed to be a fun place. If people are trading, let them trade, if people have something to say let them say it, if I put a post on top of the post I have just as much right to do that as you do. I am in no way nor have I ever or what I ever try and make your life or job any more difficult by moving a post or anything else for that matter. (I moved one post for crying out loud) I am well aware that you bring a lot to this blog! But you have to realize we’re all in this together. This isn’t zingys blog. Lol
I know I’m not the only one that has pulled away from commenting or posting on several different occasions and I think you do too. I don’t want that! I don’t want anybody to feel like that! And I’m sure you don’t either. But everything isn’t going to be run your way. And it’s not “your designated job” to take over comments, posts, trades, or anything for that matter. We can all work together as we have done for many many years.
Again… I know you do alot on this blog, and I’m not minimizing that in any way! You really are awesome at keeping things up & I appreciate that so much! Let’s all try and work together at getting along and doing the best that we can with one another.

I don’t think I’ve seen any of the Star Wars movies. I could name a few of the main characters, but other than that, I don’t know anything about it. It was never really something that interested me.
I did go back to work on Friday and was able to make up most of my hours during the weekend, so my paycheck should only be slightly below what it usually is. So now I have one less thing to worry about.

i have seen all of the star wars movies, but i’m not one of the “fan girl” type fans that knows every detail or remembers all the connections, but they didn’t leave me hanging for the Force Awakens – i understood what was happening, and i thought it was really good

I would love love love to go to disney. My old webkinz obsession was slowly replaced with a disney obsession. I went to disney world once when I was 6, but I don’t remember much of the trip. My parents think it’s a waste of money and I’m not in the financial position to go on my own, so it’ll probably be a while before I can go. We may be going to Florida in March, but I already know that a visit to disney is out of the question for that trip :/

Moms – I actually don’t even know the people who were in charge of it. I believe it was a case worker and their manager who were responsible, but I’ve never met them. I was pretty much kept in the dark about the whole thing. No one even told me that anything was wrong until I talked got someone at the office an hour before I was supposed to go to work one day and they told me I couldn’t.

That’s how i got hooked on them, they are so stinkin cute!
I’ve been collecting them for a few years now, but i haven’t bought any in a while. They’re only sold at the parks and the disney store, but the store by me (the only one in the whole darn state besides an outlet store) stopped carrying them for some reason. They also stopped the trading. You used to be able to bring in a figure to the disney store and trade it for one out of a blind box, but i guess they don’t do that. Kinda takes some of the fun away. Now i can only get them from the disney site (for $13 a pop + $5 shipping) or on ebay

I’m very excited for all the things that are happening this month. I’m always anxious when webkinz retire something(superbed), especially when I don’t have everyone one. But I am loving that new one, so bring it on!
From someone that just stays on the sideline I want to say I think addressing the “elephant in the room” is a good thing. Thank you to EVERYONE who contributes to making this such an awesome blog. There is rarely a day that goes by that I don’t stop in to read what is happening. You have my greatest gratitude!

I am new to this site but i must say I have never felt so welcomed by a group of people i don’t know… I love to come to this site to see what is new and what is going on with everyone. Just want to say THANKS to all of you… Up until now I really didn’t even know what a blog was… I do know I am a Webkinz addict and lover and that you all share that interest as well as other things.
