Pet a Day Giveaway Contest!
Good morning my fine furry, feathered, and finned Kinz friends! Like many of you, in a few days, I will be gathered around a Christmas tree with my family enjoying the magic of the holiday. For us, Christmas, as a cultural tradition, is only part of the celebration. Throughout history, people of many different cultures and religions have celebrated the winter solstice and coming new year. For many ancient people, December 22nd marked the “rebirth†of the sun, as the amount of sunlight we experience each day gradually increases. And as we tuck 2017 into its bed and bid it farewell, we welcome the emergence of 2018.
When I reflect upon this past year, I’m very happy with where I am. I’ve been able to spend the majority of the year home with my husband and daughter. The work I’ve done outside the home has been interesting and rewarding. And I’ve made some great new friends here at Gymbos! We’ve had some very cold temperatures and a few light flurries, but no accumulation of SNOW YET. I wonder how long that will last! If 2018 is as good as 2017, I will be very pleased. Not all years have been so good. If 2018 goes as planned, we will get more work done on our house, my husband and I will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary, my daughter will learn to drive a car and enter college two years early, and I will still be posting here at Gymbos! To celebrate the friendships I’ve made here, I’m hosting A PET A DAY GIVEAWAY CONTEST from now until the new year! Yes, you read that right! Each day, through January 1st, a new pet code will be offered to one lucky winner! Here’s how this works. Every day I will post at least once, maybe multiple times. Somewhere in my post (or posts) will be the name of the pet I’m giving away that day. There are no duplicates! The name of the pet may be obvious, or it may be hidden within my post (or posts). The challenge is to figure out which pet I’m giving away that day. The first person each day to post the correct pet will win the new code.
Rules to play: You must post your guess here on this forum the same day. I am on EST. I will try to post clues early in the day. They may even be posted late the night before (after 12 AM EST). As long as the entry with the correct pet is posted by 2:59 AM EST (11:59 AM PST) that same day, you win! Also, you must have established email communication with Momskinz. I will email the code to her, and she will forward it to the winner. If nobody has guessed the correct pet by the end of the day, I keep the code. I will not offer any clues! (although I may be bribed for clues with ice cream)
There is a total of 11 pet codes up for grabs over the next 11 days, so I will not limit the number of codes each person can win. However, please remember that we are a generous community of friends! Instead of trying to win as many codes as possible, please share with others. You are welcome to help each other out with clues! If any individual is winning excessively, I retain the right to place limits on that individual (hopefully that won’t be an issue). Also, if you like another pet more than the one you won, and another winner likes yours more than theirs, feel free to trade codes! I want this to be fun, entertaining, and rewarding! So let the games begin! 😀
Also, if you kept your wish list fairly up-to-date, I’ve been shopping for you. Several months ago, I dedicated rooms in my WW house to each of you. Low key creepy, I know, but quite a few of you have your own rooms in my house, and I’ve been stuffing your rooms as full as I can with items from your wish lists. Some of you are REALLY hard to shop for because you only have a few items on your list! Others have multiple rooms full of stuff! I’ve sent gifts to each of you today. There will be more to follow for some of you over the next 10 days, so check your accounts and keep your wish lists updated!

I’m still trying to finish getting my Christmas shopping done, house clean, laundry done, etc., but thank goodness we are finally off school, so that helps a TON! Whew! Finally catching up on a few things around here …

Off to login some gnomes. Not sure what I’m going to do with all of them once I get them all, but we’ll see! Right now, I have them all stuffed in one room. They look like a little army.

Wow what a wonderful giveaway! I closed the other post to keep only one open. Looks like Miracle nailed today’s pet – great eye! The all cap SNOW jumped out from RubyCubes’ post then my tired brain jumped to the real snow which we may get on Christmas so the YET I part didn’t register, lol.

Hoping to get to a food museum today using an express bus. Honey still has limited mobility – he can walk slowly but gets tired far more easily. We lucked out yesterday and had my dad drive us around so we went to Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows, took pictures of the Unisphere from the 1964’s world’s fair and tried some chicharonnes at a Dominican eatery nearby. We’ll see how far we’ll get today.
FYI: you can log in on Christmas using the mobile app to get your Santakinz Xmas Gift per Sally Ganz if you don’t have access to a laptop (you won’t be able to to spin the Xmas super wheel on the mobile but at least you get your present)

hello everyone, I have been back from vacation since yesterday. it was fun, but tiring. I was able to collect the daily stuff on my main account luckily.
Yesterday I was just sitting and talking to someone when I noticed it was painful to move my left pinky, and I’m now realizing how much I use it, and my ring finger that I taped it to, for pc things. 😛

I’m glad you all are enjoying the contest so far. Miracle, you are spot on! The first pet to receive its new home is a Snow Yeti! Yes, it’s a thing. I think it’s adorable, and it has a cute icy cave PSI. Great eye! You got us off to a good start in this contest!
I only have a few minutes to post. I have to take my daughter to yet another ultrasound appointment, so I need to head out. Did my grocery shopping yesterday.. What a madhouse !! Pulled my car up to where they load your groceries.. waited..waited..waited…. Finally one of the “loaders” came out and said they had placed my groceries in someone else’s car by accident !!!!
Had to try and find a place to park… manager assigned a personal shopper to help me RESHOP all of my groceries !! With receipt in hand.. the man and I went back up and down the isles dodging carts..replacing all of my items..
The whole store couldn’t have been nicer.. apologizing profusely for the inconvenience .. The “personal shopper” bagged all the groceries.. took them directly to my car … and would not accept a tip ! I offered him a big hug and wished him a Merry Christmas ! I am still chuckling about it !! ( although I really wanted to cry !!) HO HO HO

Oh gaga! First – good morning! I cannot imagine that! I’ve never even thought of that happening! I wonder if the recipient later returned them??? In a way I hope it was someone that needed a Christmas blessing and no one at the store suffered as a result, but I imagine I would have been incredulous – somewhere between frustrated, laughing, and crying. Thank you, Ruby, for the fun contest! I did a quick online search for Yeti name ideas and came up with Everest. I have never been very good choosing pet names, so thankfully, there is Google. (Google knows all.) I’m going to indoctrinate him into WW by having him pick up the birdy gift, the baby reindeer gift, and the gnomes today. He’ll be worn out before he even meets everyone else. Thank you so much for gifting him!
Also, thank you, Ruby and Shelly, for the gifts from my wish list! Some of those things have been on my list for a *very* long time (like, since 2010!) I’m still completely blown away by how many old wish list items you all have been able to find. Really, truly amazing. Thank you, thank you!

Bepsy, I tried to put my cookie jar on the gingerbread table. Hilarious when I finally discovered it was a ginormous refrigerator!
Momz, which room did you rearrange? I am hoping/planning to be able to remodel our main level in the spring: new hardwood floors and knocking down a wall, so everything has to be cleared out. It will feel like moving (which I have absolutely detested both times I’ve had to do it), so I’m not looking forward to that part. But better to do it now than 10 years from now when I might not have the energy … we have a guy that helps (and let’s me help as much as I can), so that takes some of the pressure off.
Anyway, crazy day planned again today. Gotta go get those gnomes before the day is gone. Have a great day, everyone!

my fudge turned out fabulous and i am so glad i threw dried cherries in some….
skitty kitty wants the couch, so she is on the couch with a minder….no minder and she goes in the kennel……….which i just hate the thought of…….i know dog training folks swear by them, but it is just totally against how our pets have raised us……….beds, chairs, armoires, bookshelves………no limits!

gonna do this up for christmas morning…i have tried a few variations in the past and made this one last year and dh and I both liked it and it got eaten! the others just seemed too squishy to me…………

I have the next 4 days off of work. Tomorrow night is xmas dinner at my place for friends and family alike. Have to get up early tomorrow to cook 2 turkeys, ham, and all the fixing (potatoes, carrots, sweet potato pie, schwartie potatoes, brussels, salads, stuffing-2 types, 3 pies and a pineapple upside down cake). Only good thing is I will have leftovers for xmas day. We(dh and 2 dd and I) plan to hang out in our lounge wear and play games all day!
Off to get my dailies fro WW then do some mad cleaning before bed.
