September 11

Today is a day of remembrance for those killed 17 years ago in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States of America.

On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks making it the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. Another notable detail is that the “Children of 9/11”, the 100 or so babies born after their fathers died on September 11, 2001, are now 16 years old.

Good morning dear ones! (check the time on my comment lol)

While I watched the ceremonies, I re-covered two bench seats of mine and stayed busy but quiet until I picked up youngest from school.

I am baking corn flake chicken breasts tonight – I haven’t made it in SO long that he can’t even remember having it. I feel like it is a throw back dinner. LOL

I was in first grade when 9/11 happened. I can still remember the day very clearly despite my age.

Trying a recipe for vegan chili. It’s my first time using a slow cooker, so we’ll see how it goes. If I don’t tell my dad there’s vegan beef crumbles in it I might be able to get him to try it.

We took my mom’s phone to the apple store this morning for a new battery. Ended up getting a new battery in my phone instead. Her phone is very old (iphone 5s) so she’s gonna trade hers in, use mine, and I’m getting a new one. We’re waiting until after the new phones are announced tomorrow because the prices on older models usually go down after that. I’ll probably get an iphone 8… then complain for months about the missing headphone jack.

If anyone needs a new battery in their iphone, you can get one for an iphone 6 or later for only $29 until the end of the year. Worth it if you aren’t planning to upgrade soon. In some of them you can check the battery health in the settings. Mine was at 81% and they recommend a replacement battery if it’s under 80%

choco – congrats on the new phone coming soon! i am waiting for the announcement because an apple person said they are coming out with a new one that is basically an LED version of the X at about half the price – the warthogs need phones, so i will take advantage of the price dropping on the 8 and/or X or the new one …

i have an 8 & completely forgot about the headphone jack until I just read your comment – i love my blue tooth ear buds (and they are cheaper anker ones)

We were actually getting ready to buy a phone today, but the employee suggested waiting.
Phones are getting crazy expensive, when I got my last one the companies still sold them cheap with a 2 year contract, so my iphone 6 was only $300. Would’ve been only $200 if I didn’t need as much storage. This is the first time we’ve gotten a phone since they stopped doing that, so there was some sticker shock for my mom.

Popping in to say hello. I am now more than a month behind in reading. I feel so out of it! But, I hope everyone is well!
I know that I am late, but THANK YOU SO MUCH to my Secret Santa! Such an amazing and thoughtful gift! Probably one of my favorite pets!
Also, thank you to Cheese and Nita for other various gifts. You are both very kind. I have tried to keep up in WW, but I don’t have nearly as much time to play as I used to. Still enjoy it very much and I have missed the community here. Hoping to be more consistent soon. We have a huge trip planned for the entire month of October. DH, ME and I will be travelling to Vietnam, Rome and other parts of Italy, Switzerland, France, and Belgium. I am a little freaked out. Though we travel A LOT, we have never been gone for that long. And I am concerned what all of this will do to the rhythm we have established with ME.
Of course, it will be amazing!!! Just a little nervous. Wish me luck on the terribly long flights and with the…food. I am an incredibly picky eater. Grilled duck intestine does not sound too appetizing! Lol

AmberRose!!! All of us Gymbo Aunties have been wanting an update! You’re Trip sounds wonderful!!! Good luck with ME – I will pray she adapts easily -and remember no matter the culture or nationality, all babies are babies and any parent should feel your pain. I hope she is fascinated with the new sounds and smells and languages.

When you do get more time back in WW, we will help you collect your wishes of what you have missed. 😉
