I have had a few Friend requests from names I didn’t recognize lately, but I checked here for usernames, and if it wasn’t anyone I could find, I refused them. If one of those requests was indeed from a Gymbos person, totally hit me up again- I find that my friends list is filing up, and I’m having trouble keeping friend straight when I add everyone in the game who asks, so I was hoping to keep it to Gymbos peeps only if I could- people I interact more directly with. 😉

Puma, you are welcome. I love when I am able to find items on peoples wish lists. I haven’t been able to do much at all lately. My brothers kid’s have my computer room now lol. They have the computer tied up 24/7. Thankfully my son got a laptop for his birthday and doesn’t mind me using it from time to time.

Hello all! I hope everyone had a good time with family and friends this season.
TLL—My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. My mom died three weeks before Christmas and Christmas day was her birthday, this was 14 years ago. I know what you are going through and I know no words can help. You just have to go through it. My only advice is it’s okay to feel whatever you feel when you feel it. Cry, have sad days…weeks. I cried every day on the way to work for months. I could not understand how the world could just keep turning when mine had stopped. You will slowly find you start to have more okay days than sad ones. The sadness fades into sweet memories with time. Lean on your family and friends. Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful to send these wonderful gifts in the midst of your pain. I love my gift!!!

We had a great Christmas in the new house! We were by ourselves….hahaha! It worked out better to have Christmas with my family the weekend before and with the NEW PUPPY we wanted to get back home and get on some sort of schedule. Had a great time with my family, all my nieces and nephew loved the new pup and played with her all day. She was out like a light the rest of the evening. She did pretty well traveling too. Christmas day DH cooked a prime rib and we had a nice little cozy night. Never got a tree up, didn’t want to put up the biggin’ (DH swears a lot putting that up) Couldn’t find my smaller tree…it’s still packed away in the basement somewhere. So I put up a bunch of twinkle lights and called it a day. We got Stella about 2 weeks ago at only 8 weeks…too young frankly, but I don’t think she would have made it another week…long story and not a happy one. Had to get her out of there. Had her second vet visit this morning and she got a clean bill of health! I tried to post a link to a pic in the spam post.
It was so nice and warm yesterday, even this morning, but then the snow has come in and the temps have dropped! Was freezing outside just now letting Stella out. We are just getting a dusting of snow, but I think more is to come. Not really ready either. Neighbors tell me this has been a very mild winter. Enjoy your 60 degree day! 🙂
Sorry to hear you had to go into work on your vacay!!! And big boss was a %$# on top of it! I’ll fight him/her for you if you like. I think my momma bear instincts have kick in with the puppy. I’m one of those friends let if you get knocked down, I’m going after whomever/whatever knocked you down…then I’ll be back to help you up.

Thanks for the encouraging words about work… Remains an almost daily challenge and I am pretty sure that my boss and I got off on the wrong foot from the beginning ! I try very hard but sometimes I have trouble keeping my mouth shut …LOL !! As the new year begins I think I am on countdown to closing a long… and very rewarding career… I have always ( since I was a little kid ) wanted to be a nurse… Love my patients… love the doctor who I work for..but as Bob Dylan sang…”The times they are a changin “… Seems like.. gone are the days of great patient care… do more with less…Sounds really corny but I do pray for guidance ..

Oh my goodness Stella is sooo cute! I wish my nearly 60 pound husky could have stayed that tiny forever. Of course that is partially why my lil sis got sugar gliders. They stay super tiny forever. Bigger dogs have been a staple for my family since before I was born. My father can’t seem to be without one. However, if I ever get my own dog it will either be a small breed or an easier breed like labs or retrievers.

Thanks everyone! Her dog momma was a Pitbull/German Shepherd mix named Bella (so I wanted to play off the name) and her father was a Lab/Collie mix. I can’t wait until summer, open the screen door and yell for her…S T E L L A! 🙂 We aren’t sure how big she will get. She looks like a baby cow being white with black spots! She really is so precious. We’ve had a few rough days with potty training and learning a routine, but mostly she is a snugly sweet fur ball! I wish you all could see her. She is so soft and fluffy and puppy kisses are the best.

Good Morning, everyone! Couple more days and 2018 is DONE!
I am so ready for it to be over, let me tell ya! Between the Pharmacy takeover and hubby’s appendicitis from November to January, him being off work for the first 3 weeks of the year waiting for an appendectomy and finally getting it in September and him being off another 8 weeks? Bored men who can’t work, I tell you what … they get so nosy. The brightest part of the year was in the Middle of January when the final (let’s hope it is, because 18 is enough) Grandbaby was born.
He just started walking before Christmas and I gather he is just the sneakiest of all the Grands. I haven’t met him, yet. Finances have been somewhat strained this year (as you can tell) Hopefully I will have an opportunity in the new Year.
Enough of my life story, Here is to a FANTASTIC 2019! It has to be a good year because there is no way but up from here.
Nitabuggy, I will not leave the house today. The wind is so ferocious I would have to put a cast Iron Fry Pan in my purse to weigh me down!

Moms is talking about the Mobile app. It is really restrictive, you can not add friends, you can only send to friends you already have on your phone or tablet.
It’s still fun, but only about have as fun. I am hoping they will be launching the new app. soon. The one for Desktop that was supposed to launch ‘later this year’ that obviously is not launching…yet.

Hopefully that pup is a whole new exciting adventure for you. I saw the movie ‘A Dog’s purpose’ wept like a baby every time the dog slipped out and loved the ending of the story. It made me feel a bit better about the one we had to let go of Last January 1st, but a few short months later, we got Pancho. Another rescue. He’s a good boy, but he’s a licky dog. He even licks the doggone carpet.

I have gotten behind on the blog, so if there are others who are going through difficult or challenging situations right now, I hope things are improving. Hugs! I hope you college students are enjoying your well-deserved break!
We are well. My husband, daughter and I had a very nice Christmas together, just the three of us as always.
Just before Christmas, we finished a huge remodeling project on our house, which including reframing an exterior wall, new siding and windows. Now I’m trying to get someone lined up to finish the interior – drywall, painting, trim, and flooring in four rooms. We’re hoping to have that done within the next few weeks, and then we will finally be able to move my daughter out of the small office and into a much larger bedroom. Due to the construction in that part of the house, we have so much stuff in boxes and totes cluttering the rest of the house, so I can’t wait to get everything put away! We will have more remodeling projects over the next year or so to get this place in condition to sell, but they are minor compared to all this. We’re getting close, and very excited!
My daughter finished her first semester of college and did very well. She will be starting her second semester in a couple weeks. She is moving from a small college campus to a much larger university campus. She also got her drivers license, so she will be driving herself there and back. We are going to make some practice drives to the school, which is about 20 minutes away, so she can get comfortable with the commute. And we’re going to walk her schedule a few times so she knows where she is going. She is a little nervous about it. The campus feels so large to her, but once she settles in, I think she’ll really like it. She has some fun classes lined up, and she’s looking forward to starting them. She has decided that she doesn’t want to pursue engineering. She is now interested in entering the medical field. She also finished her physical therapy, so she’s back to ice skating regularly with her coach.
Besides having our house remodeled and trying to keep up with everything in the middle of all this construction, and the holidays, I’ve also been looking for a job. It has been kind of slow because I’ve been very selective about the position I want to take, but I was finally offered a full time job this past Friday and accepted it. I’ll start on January 7. I’m very excited about it! The scope of the job is super interesting to me, and I think I will enjoy it. The only down side is that the commute is nearly an hour away in each direction, and it will often take longer than that during rush hour. I have to be there during traditional working hours at least through training, so the commute will be horrible for the first couple months. However, they said that once I’m through training, the position will have flexibility to do some work from home and to flex my hours when I go into the office. If I can work from home in the mornings, drive up later in the morning, and then leave before evening rush hour, the drive isn’t too bad. We’ll just have to see how it goes, but I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to work it all out.

I also met with gall bladder surgeon and will be in surgery on Jan 24th.
And I see the rheumatologist next week to discuss medications for the lupus,ugh! Sometimes the cure is worse then the disease.
Anyway, it’s time to work on myself and get me back on track!
So glad to see the end of 2018! 2019, here I cone!!! Lol

Good morning! Happy Monday, everyone!
Sooooo glad to finally be back home! I love family, but there is no place like home. And it is extremely frustrating using the mobile app for WW, so I’m not sure if I sent a WW thank you to everyone who sent gifts from my wish list. But thank you so much to bepoodlepal, peanuts, jem, puma, and wophy for the gifts! Going back now to find where they all landed in my dock so I can integrate them into my house.
All is quiet here, so I’m hoping I can pull up wish lists and see what I can help with. I’m not very good with them usually, but every once in a while I get lucky and actually have something to share.
That puppy, tho! OMGoodness! What a cutie! And I am not a dog person … 🙂
