I’m still feeling yucky today. No appetite at all.
Made a pot of pea soup. I couldn’t even eat a cup full. My tummy said it’s was full? Weird. But I sure am drinking lots of fluids.

Dee, I confess.I’m lazy. I throw the ingredients in my bread maker and walk away.

What kind of bread are you making?
I’m very very partial to a nice soft italian, with a chewy, crispy crust…
Of course, being diabetic I need to limit my bread intake..sigh…
    What’s your favorite bread?

Chant, we made pea soup today too! With a (store-bought) ciabatta bread.

It’s coldish and blustery here, but the skies were clear and the sun was pleasant. Kiddo and I spent more than an hour at the park! There’s a stream that flows through it, and with the recent rain, it had massively overflowed its banks. There were deep deposits of sand where there weren’t any before, our favorite truck-playing sandpit is washed away, there’s huge logs scattered here and there, and the whole bank is about 3 feet higher than it was. We found a big piece of lumber, a fencepost or something, and I dragged it and made a bridge across a puddle that he LOVED. We drew in the sand with sticks, and he got covered in sandy mud. It was supposed to be “kiddo-rides-his-bike-and-mommy-can-walk-at-normal-adult-speeds”, but the meandering free play time was worth far more than a powerwalk for me 🙂

Sorry, Momz, I don’t mean to be a pain in the backside. But, I see you fixed it.

you know there is an inherent issue with having too many accounts…. When you go searching for that one elusive item you want to give to someone and hanged if you have to go into your own stash to give it to them. Then while you are just kind of ‘strolling through’ to finish getting your cookies the dumb thing shows up … and you would have sworn you searched THAT account twice before already!

Thank you for the codes Shelly. Remembered at about two minutes to 12:00 that it was a scavenger hunt today and thought I had missed it, was happy to see it was a code.

That stinks about the hotel room situation, Dee. Most places we have stayed haven’t asked for ages. The one we were at last summer did but they were fine with two 19 and a 14 year old sharing a room. Hubby and I were just a couple of doors down though.

Hi Gaga! Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted any updates. The last couple weeks have been total insanity.

The good news is, I got the other job. I started last Tuesday, and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s a perfect fit for me. It doesn’t pay as well as the other job did, and the benefits aren’t the greatest, but it’s so close to home. My husband locked himself out of our house yesterday, and I was able to run home and let him back in and get back to work in half an hour.

I’m working with an awesome team, and my manager is giving me total flexibility with my schedule. I’m salaried, so as long as I put in my 40 hours a week and get my work done, I can work whatever hours I want. I’m doing insurance authorizations, utilization review, and QA for a detox/residential recovery facility. It’s a non-profit charity, and it has just expanded by 80%. I am part of a huge influx of new employees because this new treatment center just opened a month ago. I’m in a brand new building with my own office. Everything and everyone is so nice. I’m loving it so far! Just four days in, and I already feel totally invested in our patients and the team! I’m so glad l left the other job and took this one instead.

On the down side, OMG, other than my job, the past two weeks couldn’t have been much worse. The drywall guys came out to hang our drywall, and they have completely ruined the back of our house. They didn’t hang it right, but the owner said that the drywall finisher was so good, it would be perfect when he was done. The finisher was as clueless as the hangers. It is the worst drywall job imaginable. The finisher left all kinds of bubbles under the tape, and now we have cracks along many seems. There are huge mounds and streaks and craters in almost every seam. I took over a 100 pictures and didn’t even capture the full extent of this mess they are trying to pass off as a professional job. So we had it out with the owner and fired him, told him we’d see him in court. We are now working with the co-owner, and he has told us that he will bring in a different crew to make it right. We’re going to give them a chance, but we don’t have much confidence that this company has the skill level to do it correctly. We want the drywall torn out, rehung properly and then finished properly. We had to pay a third of the price upfront, but they aren’t seeing another dime until it’s done right. And if they can’t get it done right, we’re going to take them to small claims court to get our down payment back and to request that their crew take this poorly hung drywall down and dispose of it. My poor husband is so angry over this. It’s SO bad.

If that wasn’t enough frustration and confrontation, my poor daughter… ARGH! The Monday before last, she started her first semester at a nearby university. She is only 16, so she came in feeling young and small, like this campus is enormous and she knows no one. On her second day, she met a young man in one of her classes who was really nice and befriended her. She had lunch with him, and he tried to talk her into coming to his dorm. She refused, but she agreed to have lunch with him again the next day. So on her third day, she met him for lunch. Again he tried to get her to go back to his dorm, and again she refused. So he attacked and assaulted her and held her against her will in a booth in a dining area on campus.

When I arrived at the school to pick her up, she broke down and sobbed. I took her to the campus police, and she was questioned by a detective. There is a ton of detail to this story that I don’t want to go into on a public forum, but for the last few days of last week and the first couple days of this week, she has missed four classes because she has been meeting with so many people – police and a detective, violence prevention advocates, a Title IX investigator. The student who attacked her was warned by the detective and by the Title IX investigator to have no contact with her whatsoever. A “no contact” order was initiated last week. Early this week, he contacted her and told her to send a screenshot stating that she would not press charges. She was so scared, so she went back and reported it. He was found to be in violation of the order, and the police have sent everything to the prosecuting attorney’s office. As of Friday afternoon, they were seeking a warrant for his arrest with the judge.

This has been a total nightmare. Thankfully, my daughter was able to fight him off, and he left. Because he attacked her in a public eating area, everything was captured on video, and the police have the videos. There is evidence that this guy may have had some history of this because the police already knew him and have called him a “creeper”. My daughter is under age, which makes all of this even more problematic for this guy in terms of the charges that he now faces. And he has a 14 year old girlfriend, so there is some thought that he may have targeted my daughter specifically because she was young.

My heart has been breaking for my daughter. She works SO hard to get good grades, and she was so excited about starting this semester of college. She got off to such a bad start, got so far behind, has been terrified and not felt safe at school since this happened, and is feeling really depressed. Fortunately, her advocate in the violence prevention department has been absolutely wonderful. She has given her safe places to hang out and study. She has let my daughter come to her office any time she wants, and she makes her feel supported and safe. My daughter has spent this weekend trying to get caught up. She has emailed all of her professors and set up advising appointments with them so that she can explain why she has missed classes and so they can help her get caught up. She is also setting up an appointment with a counselor. I hope she can recover from all of this. She still faces on-campus hearings for Title IX disciplinary action against this student, and she may have to go to court to testify against him in a criminal case if the attorneys decide to prosecute. She is so overwhelmed by all of this. She’s so grown up and mature for her age, but she’s still my baby. It just blows my mind that all this happened to her on her first week of school.

On the up side, we officially have a new member of the family. The little stray kitty has moved inside. She has been staying in the heated house we bought her outside, but it got SO cold last week, we were worried about her. The little pad in her house doesn’t generate that much heat, so we were worried she would freeze. We let her move inside, and last weekend we took her to the vet and had her checked out. She’s perfectly healthy. We got her vaccinations, and now she is an indoor kitty. She’s adjusting pretty well to the other three kitties and they are adjusting pretty well to her. Every night, she curls up with my daughter in bed. That has been a nice comfort for my daughter this week.

I’m hoping that between the drywall and this mess at school, everything will get back to normal soon. My husband and daughter were both blowing up my phone every day this week while I was at work, and I couldn’t be there for them as much as I wanted. This week has been a tough adjustment, but fortunately I love my job. And when I sat in on assessments with patients the last couple days, I was like… woow… my problems are nothing compared to what some people are facing. My job has a way of reminding me just how lucky I am.

So that’s my update. I’ve had very little time for Webkinz the past couple weeks. I’ve done some of my challenges, but haven’t had much time for anything else.

I hope you all are well! Enchant, I hope you’re feeling better! Whoever sent me the estore points, OMG, thank you!!! You really brightened my week! HUGS! 😀

    Have a wonderful weekend!

I can’t tell you how many times we had to redo hangers jobs! I’m so sorry your having to deal with that. And just so you know. A good job can take more then 3 to 4 days to complete. They need to give the mud time to dry in between coats. There’s alot more to it..but bubbles under tape is not good at all.. stand firm.and good luck
