I am sure it brightened your day. I hope your dh was able to fix your hatchback issues without too much difficulty.. It was sweet of him to show up at the end of your day to help. He must have known that you were close to the edge.. so to speak !

Can’t wait for all of February’s challenges to start next week. Himself’s kitty seems to be settling into her new home.. My sister is happy to have her and is in the process of grooming all her matted fur out… She is a long haired cat and I am guessing that she was in need of some TLC !
dee… I am not really very tough when it comes to very cold weather.. I consider low teens and single digits cold… which is predicted here for the next two days..
Yesterday was the 44th anniversary of the Storm of the Century here in CLE
I was working the night shift and the sudden beginning of the storm started at 5 am… By the end of my shift the highway was closed and most roads impassable.. Lots of drivers stranded… I lived 25 miles from the hospital and there was no way I was able to get home… I stayed in the hospital for three days ( picking up extra shifts for people who could not get in) until I could finally get home ! I am sure most of you are too young to remember reading anything about it …. but it was unforgettable ! I can’t believe it has been so long ago… it seems like only yesterday !

Good morning! And sorry, Gaga! That has happened to me a lot recently, but not for the same reason. It mainly happens on my “newish” laptop. There is something that I’m accidentally hitting that either makes my message disappear or closes me out. But it also happened once on my PC this week and I can’t remember the reason for that. Anyway, it is so hard to recreate one’s thoughts expressed in a post!

Yes, my dh fixed my hatchback! $60, but well worth it in my opinion. Since he did it himself we probably saved $150. I am SO happy!
Dee, the recipe looks good, but I would probably leave the mushrooms & cauliflower in! 😉 I’m so tempted to go on a strike with ground beef, though! It is super pricey here.

ham is the cheapest for the past year or so………prolly why we have been eating so much of it…….just thankful i have a freezer

Gaga – I remember that storm or a similar one in our area around that time. I did a lot of shoveling with my parents and we made tunnels in the snow for fun (once the storm had died down, of course). The one that is forever etched in my memory was in the 1990’s. I was at a women’s retreat and my husband was at home in charge of four young children, the youngest being a 6 month old baby.
Anyway, the women had to go from one building to another to get food and it wind was so powerful that we could hardly see where we were going. It was terrible. We thought we were stranded there, but one of the husbands came and picked up the ladies from our group. I don’t remember the details about the cars that had taken us there or how they got back. But we were about 2 hours away from home.
My husband….went out in the blizzard with the kids to hang out with the husband of a friend who was with me at the retreat. They also had four little ones. But when I heard what he did, I was surprised! Maybe he headed over there before it got too bad! Anyway, those are some of my memories from long ago.

moms- I like Deerly Beloved, good play on words. Is that what you ended up going with? Juliet was good too gaga. On my daughter’s account we already have a lovey, cupid, valentina, and amour, so thinking maybe Cherish for this one? Although I also like Adora or Amorette. No idea.
Went through and caught up on here this morning, it’s extra nice having this community during this unprecedented crazy time. Even though we all have our separate things we are dealing with, and don’t “know” each other, we can come here for support. Thankful for that. 🙂
I lived where is snowed for 8 years, and that was enough for me. I love to visit, but hate driving in it. 40’s is usually the coldest it gets here, which is perfect for me.
I will make an effort go look at the wish lists on here, and see if I by chance have anything someone is looking for.

just gave the pup a thorough brushing out of his undercoat – you know, dh’s pup, yet i seem to be the only one who brushes, removes mats, etc.
he isn’t quite used to the process yet, but he was very patient, and i got to do a better job this time – that’s progress – he will get fully groomed next week
when he saw me with the little tub of brushing supplies, he RAN from me & hid . . . here’s a photo 😀

Now we have two of the coworkers (who are triple vaccinated) confirmed positive for covid and the third who lost their taste and smell, so likely has covid too. The company won’t send me or the remaining coworker home unless we have symptoms which is stupid in my opinion. You should assume we have covid too and just aren’t showing any symptoms yet. We are likely just infecting everyone else if that is the case.

Our local TV news station has something called Worth the Watch each night and so many videos are pet related.. Humphrey’s picture is worth the watch ! Last spring, I got myself screened for ADHD, and tah-daaaaah, I have it. Both presentations, the inattentive AND the hyperactive. Yay me? Anyway, it’s been a year of therapy and tweaking medications here and there for anxiety. And earlier this month, I got the go ahead to try a stimulant for ADHD management, and oh my goodness, it is like night and day. I am more patient, calm, and purposeful. I am taking time to fold, put away, and arrange things properly. I can schedule a to-do list and accomplish things, and I feel so in control of my surroundings and choices. I feel rested and relaxed- it’s a stimulant, you’d think it’d hype me up worse? Nope, it works exactly like it’s supposed to in someone with ADHD and chills us down to just right.
LL, perhaps tomorrow morning you might have a slight headache? Better safe than sorry, you know. 😉
Gaga, you miss your work?! I guess I could see that, especially if you really loved your job and it matched your passion. My mom retired this summer, and she is LOVING IT. She visited her doctor for a physical, and her doctor asked the routine “do you have any depression, anxiety, anger problems, etc…” question, and mom replied “I just retired and I now am the most un-depressed, un-anxious, most relaxed person I know!”
Only two more growth moments with Rainbow on NEXT before she becomes a full fledged pet! Then Kiddo can spark more babies as soon as he has 80 gems.
Baked bread here on Wednesday, and it makes just the yummiest toast. Boiled dinner with kielbasa tonight for dinner, and Kiddo surprised me by devouring all his kielbasa, AND asking or seconds!
Tomorrow for school we’re focusing on words that end in “OP”, like stop, mop, flop… and POP. So we’re making popcorn and threading it onto string, and also going to string on cards with OP words written on them!

Moms.. looks like you are in the deep freeze too ! Thankfully it won’t last too long… and the other positive I am noticing that it is daylight longer each day.
According to meteorologist we are gaining three minutes of daylight each day
That in itself is very much a boost for mental outlook !
Puma… I forgot to mention that my brother has lived on St. Simon’s Island for past 10 years or so… He has spoken about the lighthouse.. He used to take his dog to the beach daily but she is no longer physically able to do so..
I am afraid that one of these daily morning chats he may have really bad news about her… Each day is a gift and they have been mentally preparing as best they can for the inevitable.

Gaga – When we were at ST. Simon’s last summer we walked along the beach and also went up into the lighthouse. I don’t like heights SO…..I didn’t go on the outside at the top, but my husband took advantage of the sights. I was content to see the sights from where I was standing. LOL! It is a great place to walk. We ate at a restaurant that had outside seating. I went inside for the restroom and it looked like a hole in the wall, but the food was quite delicious and went beyond our expectation.
I haven’t checked wish lists in a while….it seems that I go in spurts. But I may have some of those plushies, Platynick.

moms… Looks like you are in the deep freeze down there… Hope you are able to stay in and keep warm.. Heard in FLA they have Geckos falling from the trees due to the cold weather ! That would be gross.. but I guess they thaw out and are fine. My mom was on her best behavior yesterday and has been very pleasant… and appreciate . Himself is heading back to OSU today with my brother and his mom… I guess he had a meeting with his paternal aunt yesterday to talk about legal issues… He was given an urn with his dad’s ashes so I am sure he is a bit down.. I know he has a very full schedule at school with classes and his two jobs.. so I hope that helps to distract his thoughts and keep him busy.
Sheba.. It sounds like you have overextended yourself .. and you have a difficult time saying NO… Hope all of your time and efforts are appreciated ♥

Was fixings dee’s Shepherd’s Pie recipe yesterday for my mom and I… On the way to the kitchen for lunch my mom fell and I knew immediately that she was injured…Complaining of hip pain and unable to move her leg. Ambulance was called and she was taken to the ER… She sustained a
fractured hip and will have surgery today if medically cleared… She is one tough lady but risks are high .
