moms.. how sweet of your dh to give you flowers !! So happy you were able to get a robin plushy ! They are very cute and it is nice you can see it when placed in the yard… usually those plushies are so small !
Firsts are always difficult for sure… not only first Mother’s day but it would have been her 96th birthday… My sister and himself have decided not to get together tomorrow for Sunday meal… Looks like I will have all day to do nothing !
Mother’s Day is always kind of an emotional day anyway … not able to have kids of my own but comforted to have been a part of several of my nephew’s and niece’s lives…
Sheba… just happen to be in the Kinzville park for WOW wheel.. trying to find out if there is a schedule for future availability but so far have not found anything…
dee… I try to always have a list when I shop but even with a list I get home at times and missed something !
Any Kentucky Derby fans ?? Race day today… looks like it is going to be a muddy mess ! One gray horse in the running but have to review the list and make my choice..

Good morning! Yay, the weekend!
I’m a Derby fan! *waving at gaga* Born and raised in KY, but was never allowed to go to the races, even though I was a huge horse lover when I was younger. My grandpa was a compulsive gambler at the races, and my mom couldn’t associate it with anything other than her very poor childhood. My dh has always wanted to take me, but the timing is bad with my teaching job. It is definitely on the bucket list, tho.
I had fun visiting your “house,” dee. 🙂 It was nice seeing someone online when I was on. I had been visiting Boper’s house so I could play with the baby rattle for my points. And now I feel like I need to spend more time on decorating …
Got a robin plushy this morning which was a surprise. I never saw an announcement about those anywhere. I’ll have to go back and read.
We have a nice rainy Saturday. I’m planning to finish my book … recently discovered a new author for me (William Monk series by Anne Perry) where a man wakes up in a hospital with no memory of who he is. He learns he is a brilliant detective in Victorian London, but keeps his memory loss a secret because he doesn’t want to be fired and sent to the poor house. In each book he learns a little more about his past as he tries to solve mysteries without his prior resources. I like the concept, and Perry is a good writer with a bizarre murder in her own personal life. Not sure how I never found her books before … Anyway, loving my Kindle where I can just borrow the next one from the library. Also, might take a trip to the used bookstore to see what I can find …

Miracle… Have you chosen a horse yet for the Derby ? I have always been a horse lover too ! When I got my first nursing job I bought my first horse and my first new car… Long ago and far away … His name was My First Beau.. He was a retired Hunter/Jumper Thoroughbred who was perfect for a beginning rider.
So many great memories… If I weren’t so concerned about falling off and breaking something I would get back into riding now that I have the time !
I hope you get to the Derby sometime !

Gaga – It sounds kinda’ lonely to be by yourself on mother’s day. You just lost your mom and your have “mothered” himself & your niece and maybe some that I’m not aware of. ♥ ♥ ♥ Wish you could join me! My dh made reservations at an Indian restaurant and we are meeting up with our son, baby girl, his wife & her parents, and hopefully my single son will drive to our area to join us. Indian food is a bit spicy for me, but I can usually find something that I can handle.

Another thought about mother’s day….I someone in my life who has “mothered” me from the time I was little on up! A single lady the age of my parents who would often spend time with my sister and I. No relation, just a very good friend. As we got older she would give my parents a break and take us for the weekend. When we moved she moved closer to where we lived. She took us to the beach. We got to swim at her condominium pool every summer. She is still very much part of our lives, although about 3 hours away. When I visit her, she has a whole door filled with pictures of my five children and my sister’s five children. Not only that, but now our grandchildren. She comes from a big family herself so also has several nieces and nephews. I was thinking of her yesterday and how much she has been a mother-like figure to me and I am so grateful to her. She was (and is) a safe place to go. All of my teen woes with school, friends & boys, and more she was privy to the info. LOL!

Moms – It is so funny to read your comment about the wish for new prizes! I read that just after I was wishing for some OLD prizes, such as the lava lamps and some of the things that were offered in the early days of Webkinz that I wasn’t privy to or that I didn’t even think of collecting until I finally managed to acquire more KC. That said, I know what you mean. I have plenty of those prizes. The one that I have the least of is the stone garden lantern.

Miracle – I have read MANY of the Anne Perry books! Both of her series, the one with William Monk and also the one with Thomas & Charlotte Pitt. It’s been a while, though. I need to see where I left off and pick back up again! Maybe this summer! Some of them are very thought provoking and I always feel that lessons are being taught. The history of the author was a surprise to me and I have often wondered how she has experienced healing from her past.

QoS – yes, i agree – would love more of the very rare old old prizes or new ones – it’s the common things that make me feel a little meh. i like the story of your “other mother” – i was laughing one of ds’s friends came in last night & unloaded about his golf tournament yesterday & his gf being a pain & stuff, then said, “okay, just wanted to catch you up” & left again 😆 i love that they talk to me like that, so i know what you mean about her being privy to the info – that is special
gaga – dh & i had a few years in a row where we had a Derby date & went somewhere to watch & have dinner, etc. i just announced it, so maybe we will do that again – thanks for the reminder!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms ! I hope your kids and families are planning an extra special day for all of you !
For those of you who missed the Derby yesterday… you missed history in the making ! The horse who won was not entered till the day before ! His odds were something like 80-1.. Was purchased at a claims race for 30,000 dollars…and the jockey was basically a nobody…. The horse ran his heart out and won ! I think I clapped for 5 minutes after the race was over… It was amazing !
moms… How special that the young man shared his life about gf with you.
Sounds like you are a second mom to him ! There are not too many kids who would be comfortable enough to share their personal life with their friend’s mom !
dee… Pizza sounds great ! I hope your weather is warm and sunny and you can enjoy working in your yard !

The Derby race was really a good one! I usually root for the favorite, only because I think they have the best chance of winning the Triple Crown … but in all other sports, I root for the underdog. And there couldn’t have been a bigger upset than the horse that won yesterday, unbelievable! It rained all day yesterday, so we ordered in and I finished my book. Feeling lazy for the first time in a long time. This week is busy, tho, so hopefully, it charged me up.
Anyone know how to shrink the WebkinzNext window so that it doesn’t take up my entire screen? I figured out how to get it into a window so I can toggle around it, but can’t figure out a way to shrink it. It’s ginormous even when I’m zoomed all the way out.
Love it when you get to know your kids’ friends. When mine were in high school, they all liked coming over and hanging out in our basement. Fun times. 🙂

Today I am lounging in bed, read some. Got lots of kitty hugs, and now I’m starting the 2and season of Raised by wolves on HBO. Its sci-fi. Not my usual thing. But it’s different. Very futuristic. My usual is Tudor Era based dramas, or Regency or Victorian Era. Love those history based shows. Even ones that aren’t correct. Lol then a good chick flick every once In awhile, maybe a tear jerker or two..and every now and then a really good horror movie to get my adrenaline pumping! Lmbo
The guys are out in the garage, aka man cave working on the power washer so they can wash the house so it can get painted finally! Another thing put off because of illnesses..ugh! Anyway I’ve got the house all to myself and get to just binge on whatever i want without interruptions!
Spent Thursday and Friday with my mom and my other sister is taking her dinner today. So moms happy.
I wanted to go today too but I’ve reached my physical limits and need a recharge!

we picked up my mother & went to eat hibachi earlier – ds baked me a chocolate cake (from scratch! dee should be so proud!) & gave me Disney books, older ds sent me an edible arrangement with pineapple spelling out M♥M – he had it made with all pineapple & strawberries because he knows my favorites, so i feel loved
the kids have always hung out here – we have a basement too – i am close to several of the friends & wouldn’t have it any other way – i am blessed for sure

I got an unexpected phone call to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day from my nephew in Connecticut ! It was so sweet of him and truly made my day !
He and his wife received a new foster pup on Saturday ! Although they have only had him a day.. they love him and is one that they would consider adopting if he goes without a new family… His cats are getting along with the pup and that is a big consideration too.. The last foster the cats would not venture out of the bedroom to check out the previous pup… She however was quite a handful and rambunctious. and was returned by two families after less than a day !! She did seemingly get a forever home so it all worked out.
Sheba… Hope your school project goes well for you ! I think the new NEXT Season starts ? Wednesday… I am saving my sparks to make a new baby !
I now have enough but will wait to see what the new SEASON asks for..

Finally bought the Space Squirrel Monkey yesterday. I have wanted it forever and kept forgetting to get it when it was on discount, so I treated myself. Got a couple of space items as well.
I missed 10 points somewhere on Next for the last Season Pass prize on one account, so off to play GlideHeart to get try for those points. Wish me luck.

Gaga, I live in Connecticut.. I live near wallingford and Middletown.. (not putting my actual town) I love CT. Moved away once for 4 years..I was super home sick..FL inside, but I’m a sucker for 4 seasons. I’ll need to check out Jeffery Archer. I read on kindle app. EVERYDAY hooked on books since 10 years of age..Nancy drew and hardy boys were the first sets of books I ever owned. My sister has all of them on her book shelves to share with her grandchildren as I passed them over 9 years back. Still in perfect condition! I was so proud of those books. My dad bought one a month through a book club . We were kinda poor, so they were a treasure to me!

i think jeffrey archer tells a good story. some of his books are BIG tho are a trilogy etc……….
i like detective ish type books………..agatha christie, john sandford, lee child
stuff like that. I will try new things within that realm. not into reading sci fi, but i do like to watch it. dh reads mostly history or biographies……snore
altho i did like colin powells biography.
i just like to read a book………not an ebook or whatever they are called. a proper book that i can use my bookmarks in! i have books stashed everywhere. dhs car, my car, the fish bag! ya never know when you will get stuck someplace. and i am def not a phone person………..
