Hello Friends!! Thank you to everyone who kept my family in your thoughts. Everything went just fine. It was a bit scary at times with the wind, but over all it was fine. Worst storm I’ve ever been through. We lost power Saturday night. It stayed out till Tuesday afternoon. Other than losing everything in both fridges we were fine. Our neighbors fences on all sides have been blown down. The fence we put up still stands. Not sure how long we will be sharing a back yard. Doggos are not so happy lol. I hope everyone else affected fared well and are safe. Thank you again everyone!!

Gaga, the first few weeks are always crazy, followed by a fluctuation of lulls and peaks, and then obviously the trainwreck of finals. I will hopefully have some time this weekend to actually do room designs or something more fun 😀 And of course be on here

Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA the past couple days. Yesterday was crazy! I was so busy early in the day and lost track of time, so I was rushing out of the house like a mad woman to pick my daughter up from school. It was pouring rain, and I was already running late and didn’t want her standing outside getting soaked. I had 6 packages in my arms to ship out from Ebay sales, and I was trying to protect the labels from the rain. In my haste, I ran out the door, locked it and pulled it closed behind me… and then I thought, ‘Oh, I really should have checked to be sure my keys are in my purse.’ And then I had that horrible realization that I had left my keys in the house.
So the good news is, our house is much safer from home invasion than I realized. After I tossed the packages under my car to keep them from getting soaked and called my daughter to tell her of my predicament, I spent the next 15 minutes attempting to break into my own house. Mind you, this is a house that I’m extremely well-acquainted with because we’ve been remodeling it for the past couple years. And we just installed new windows, doors, and locks! And I have no spare key outside.
At this point, I was sopping wet, hair soaked, freezing, because 58 degrees in the sun is awesome! But 58 degrees when you’re drenched under grey skies… not so much. So I called my daughter again, who had already called my husband, who called me while I was on the phone with my daughter to tell me that he was leaving work to pick up my daughter and come home to let me in the house. On the bright side, because we have been working on our house, we had a giant piece of plywood in a trash pile of stuff that we still have to haul to the county dump because it’s too large to set out with the trash at our house.
Giant scraps of plywood make awesome tents when you lean them against your house! I figured out which direction the rain was not blowing, angled the plywood against the house, moved a soaking wet wooden rocking chair under it, and sat there playing Hatch the Dragon on my phone for half an hour while I waited for my husband to get home. I was like… how’s this for irony? I thought I’d have more time to play Webkinz now that I’m off work, but instead, I have to lock myself out of the house (and car) in the rain to have a chance to play. On the up side, I finally…. FINALLY won the Hatch the Dragon trophy! So yay! And my daughter and husband had a huge laugh at my expense when they pulled up and saw me sitting under my plywood shelter. In all fairness, I completely deserved it. I would have been laughing with them if I wasn’t so cold and wet.
And OMG! I won the room design trophy! And I finally get a chance to log in here, and I see all these wonderful posts and congratulations! I’ve been playing Webkinz for nearly 10 years, and in one day I managed to score two long-coveted trophies! How weird is that? Thank you all SO much for your kind feedback and support! I’m pretty certain that you all played a big part in me winning that trophy! 😉
You all are awesome! I am so glad I found this Webkinz community! It feels like home… a group of others who totally get Webkinz. I can’t believe it took me this long to find you all!

Finally have a moment to check in. Congrats Ruby on the much deserved win. Sorry to hear about your house ordeal.
All of my sister’s neighbors have been accounted for.. the ones that stayed behind. No on on their Key, Cudjoe Key, have been aloud back in. One friend has a satelight phone and called them after he surveyed the damage. My sister’s small boat was ripped off the lift and sank to the bottom of the canal. Her large boat is okay. Her house was built within the last 10 years and can withstand winds up to 160 mph. The house withstood the beating.. many on her street did not. Lots of debris, downed palms, pineapple, lime and lemon trees but no water damage. After seeing the devastation from Andrew, they built their house at 10.2 feet above sea level on a man made hill. Now it is just a waiting game until power is restored and they are allowed access.
I’ve spent very little time on WW this week but I was able to collect at least 2 of each of the clothing from the apples. Looking forward to the floating leaves but hope they come at quicker intervals than the apples.
I see here in Canada our Walmart is advertising apple pie oreos.. any tried them before??

i’ve decided i’m not really an oreos fan but i might change my mind if they make banana pudding oreos (the nilla wafer would be better than an oreo cookie).
