Still haven’t heard anything directly from the school. Last night the district announced their plans for the fall and it looks like it’ll be a hybrid thing with the option to be fully virtual. I just emailed the principal to let them know that I’m available if they need me. Not sure if I’ll be needed but it’s worth a try.
If they don’t need me there is another distract that has a job posting for a building sub. The pay is decent (for a sub) but the district is pretty far away and not really where I want to work. We’ll see.

Our school system doesn’t really seem to know what they are doing. Constantly changing rules when other provinces come up with something better in their plan. It’s just a whole big mess.

our teachers are required to teach from their classrooms with all of the students remote & they aren’t allowed to collaborate in person, but they have to be in their classes in person โ

LL – it makes me mad – let them work from home like the students – i especially feel for the parents that have kids trying to do remote learning
plus, a principal at a nearby school just got sick, so now the entire administration & front office has to be out – why risk exposure???

I know I am still new, just popping in to finally say hello. I try to keep up, but like everyone, have had a crazy few months. Got the kiddo off to college, so hopefully will have more time to check in here. They have campus open for now, virtual classes. So we will see how that goes… Anyone here getting that Dragon? I love those, the wolf was my favorite, but I can’t bring myself to spend that for one virtual.

I think I am getting the dragon. I am not personally purchasing it, but I set up a trade for one in exchange for a different promo pet. I’m pretty excited, and name recommendations are appreciated!
Also, I don’t endorse Webkinz selling pets for 100k points (or $100 however you look at it). I understand that Ganz is a business and needs money to stay afloat, and I appreciate that people spend in the eStore and buy lots of pets to support them, but this is A LOT for a virtual item that will eventually be deleted when Webkinz closes (hopefully not anytime soon!). But I already have ALL of the other dragons that have been released so I sorta have to collect this one, right?

boper – i agree with all you said about the price but wanting it too . . .
i sometimes justify things as this is my entertainment/recreation . . .. what do we spend for an xbox game or a round of golf or whatever the rest of the family does for fun. it would be an easy one for me if they’d do a big points sale, but paying full price for the points for this one pet is too much for my taste . . .

went to store for fruit – come home and garage will not open………raining….power is out!

cmpets – glad you had time to come by – glad kiddo is safely at college – do you think colleges will stay open for the whole semester? i don’t know what to think, 2 of my friends have kids at the same college (they don’t know each other – i’ve been trying to make that happen), but each of them & their roommates are all showing symptoms just in the past 48 hours ๐ awaiting official results. testing is so unreliable though – 3 out of 4 roommates for one of them were positive & one negative but same symptoms . . .

moms.. Heard on the news last night that local high school who was to play their first game had one player test positive for Covid… Whole team and all coaches must quarantine for 14 days… ( Just this week governor allowing all high school sports to be played this fall ) Hope this is not an indication of things to come with high school sports.
The county in which I live was updated this week to Red…Still see places where people are not masking despite mandate ! So aggravating.
Boper.. Happy that you are able to trade for the new Dragon !! 100,000 points are a lot but I agree with moms… For some this is their entertainment expense ! Keep waiting to see one of your room designs on WKN !!
Big POW WOW tomorrow for family… The inmate wants OUT… all six of us are planning to get together to discuss… We have not all been together in 6 years. Should be interesting. Will leave my boxing gloves at home !

Good Morning.
For those of you getting the Dragon, happy for you, and I agree, this is an entertainment expense, especially now that so many things have changed since Covid hit.
Boper – Definitely, if you collected all of the other dragons, you have to have this one. It is a really cool pet.
moms – They tested all of the kids at her school before they could move in to the dorms. Parents had just temperature check. Not that we didn’t have 7 trips to Target while we were there, so in reality, could have been exposed after they tested, or any time since. Not to mention anyone who lives off campus. The kids are all talking about it, and whether or not Colleges stay open. As with everything right now, it’s wait and see.
She is 2200 miles away, so we have a backup plan just in case. Under 50 were positive during that first round of testing, and it’s a BIG school, so hopefullythe numbers stay down.

a friend’s son goes to University of Kentucky – they all tested, but all of his classes ended up virtual, so he turned around & went back home after a day because his roommates were being reckless & he didn’t think it was worth staying

hey gaga – i’m struggling with the sports because i don’t want to see them prioritize the sports over academics or spread through sports & delay reopening – i understand the mental health & future for some of the athletes, but the same can be said for any of the extra curriculars i suppose . . . there are no easy answers *sigh*

I really love dragons, and I really want this one..but 100?
Then I think, well, I buy lots of estore points, and tons of pets, what’s 100 dollars more, after all this is my only vice.
But why 100? Why not 50? I’d be more willing at 50. But the reason I’m really not sure, is because at that price it’s psf should not be a recolored food, and the psi should be something spectacular and not a recolored item. this is where I’m not happy at all, why not a full moon with a smiling face on it to hang in the sky, that turns to the sun during day!? I’m just not sure, besides my emperor dragon is purple.

Moms, I’m having trouble with my email..I can’t send out, I can only get incoming…I don’t know what I messed up on my phone ugh!

To all of you dealing with school issues.. my heart goes out to you all, this virus has turned the world upside down.
Education is so important!
But not more important then a person’s life!
But imo if kids can learn from home, teachers should be able to teach from the safety of their homes too! At least until there is a vaccine that works for this.
